SR Story | Success this summer continues to follow local swimming sensation Daniel Roy. Ranked No. 1 in the nation in the 18-and-under age bracket, the Gonzaga Prep senior-to-be won the men’s 100-meter breaststroke at the 2017 Pacific Northwest Senior Long Course championships last weekend in Federal Way.

Youth notebook: West tops East in All-State football

SR Story | The West rallied from a 10-0 halftime deficit to down the East 19-16 in the 53rd annual All-State football game Friday at Moses Lake. The East had a final possession with 1:23 remaining but came up short.

G-Prep replacing turf, remodeling gym

SR Story | Gonzaga Prep’s athletic facilities are getting a much-needed makeover. The most visible work is on the football field where the turf installed in 2005 is being replaced.

Brian Dunn resigns as Lakeside (WA) football coach

SR Story | Brian Dunn, head football coach the last 20 years at Lakeside (Nine Mile) has resigned. Dunn, 57, coached Lakeside to a league title in the Northeast A and the Great Northern League. His teams were 102-96 with six state playoff appearances.

Lewiston football coach Shawn Nilsson resigns

SR Story | Shawn Nilsson had been thinking about stepping down as Lewiston’s head football coach during the season. Nilsson, 52, made it official just after the first of the year. His teams were 26-21 in five seasons including 9-1 and 9-2 the last two years.
