GSL slowpitch: University rolls past Mead for title

SR Story | Sophomore Gracee Dwyer’s offensive contribution sparked University to its eighth Greater Spokane League District slowpitch softball championship on a sunny Tuesday afternoon on its home field with a 13-3, five-inning victory over Mead.

Sportslink Blog | When the Greater Spokane League started back in the 1970s, fastpitch softball was not offered fo girls. The league began competition with slowpitch and it remained that way until 1985, when the GSL decided to switch to modified fastpitch.
