Tekoa-Oakesdale had no problems dispatching Walla Walla Valley Academy in the District 9 2B girls basketball play-in game Tuesday night.
The homestanding Nighthawks led 17-5 after one quarter en route to a 55-22 win that sends the No. 4 seed out of the North into a showdown against Dayton, the top seed from the South. The game is 7 p.m. Thursday.
Desiree Chappell and Shelby Puckett led the charge for the Nighthawks (11-9). Chappell had 13 points and 11 rebounds, while Puckett had 14 points, eight rebounds and seven steals. Kaela Dewan contributed 10 points.

Colville 61, Riverside 42: The Indians (8-10, 5-7) clamped down on defense after allowing the visiting Rams (1-16, 1-11) to knock down five 3s in the first half. Jordan Brons led Colville with 19 points and Whitley Luu had 13. Rheanna Kaley had 12 for Riverside.
Pullman 46, Cheney 27: At Pullman, Macey Brown scored 11 points and Amy Sterk 10 and the Greyhounds (15-2, 11-0) coasted past the Blackhawks (7-11, 6-6). Jordan Levenseller had eight rebounds and Katie Guettinger had seven steals for Pullman.
Clarkston 61, Deer Park 40: At Clarkston, the Bantams (14-4, 11-1) used a full-court press to grab an early lead over the Stags (3-15, 2-10), helped by KC McConnell scoring 12 of her 17 points in the first half. Kellie McCann-Smith had 10 points, six rebounds, five steals and three assists in the win. Stacia Obert led DP with 14 points.
West Valley 56, Medical Lake 44: Shaniqua Nilles hit four 3-pointers and scored 13 of her 25 points in the third quarter when the Eagles 14-4, 8-4) rallied from a 21-19 deficit to take a 42-36 lead over the Cardinals (5-10, 3-8) in Medical Lake. Hannah Love contributed 25 points and 15 rebounds.
For ML, Marissa Propeck had 12 points and 10 rebounds and Gabrielle Daily had 13 points and 11 rebounds.
District 6 1A
Lake Roosevelt 55, Okanogan 28 : The host Raiders earned a berth in the regional tournament by opening district play with an easy win over the Bulldogs at Coulee Dam. LR overcame a slow start to take a 20-11 lead at the half as Melissa Meza had seven of her 12 points in the second quarter to go with 13 rebounds. Tiffany Adkins also finished with 12. The third-seeded Raiders play No. 2 Tonasket at 6 p.m. Friday in Omak.
