In brief: Post Falls drops Lake City

For the second time this season against Lake City, defense proved pivotal as the Post Falls Trojans (11-4, 5-1) recorded an Inland Empire League sweep with a 52-46 win over the visiting Timberwolves (8-5, 2-4) on Tuesday.

Katelyn Loper led PF with 19 points and Jordan Schoening had 17. Katie Baker led LC with 14.

Coeur d’Alene 64, Sandpoint 14: The league-leading and No. 1-ranked 5A Vikings (14-0, 6-0) had no problem at 4A Sandpoint (1-10, 0-6). Kama Griffitts and Carli Rosenthal had 11 and 10 points, respectively, for the Vikings.

Great Northern League

Cheney 31, Riverside 19: Jenna Hatch led the Blackhawks (2-6, 1-1) with 10 points, nine coming on 3-pointers, in a win over the visiting Rams (0-7, 0-2).

Clarkston 49, West Valley 44: Kellie McCann-Smith had a game-high 20 points as the Bantams (4-3, 2-0) knocked off the Eagles (6-1, 1-1) at Clarkston.

Intermountain League

Priest River 51, Bonners Ferry 47: Taylor Stewart made 12 of 12 free throws, finishing with a game-high 21 points, as the visiting Spartans (4-6, 2-1) knocked off the Badgers (7-3, 3-2).

St. Maries 51, Kellogg 38: Karly Truscott had 13 points, four steals and four assists to lead the Lumberjacks (6-6, 3-1) past the visiting Wildcats (2-8, 0-3). Hailey Fuller led Kellogg with 12 points.

Northeast A League

Freeman 46, Lakeside (Nine Mile) 42: Steals by Carley Heinen and MacKenzie Taylor led to layups in the final minute as the Scotties (11-0, 3-0) held off the Eagles (7-6, 1-1) at Freeman.

Colville 40, Medical Lake 34: The visitors (4-4, 1-1) made 14 of 19 free throws to win at ML (4-3, 2-1). Ashley Knight had 12 points for Colville.

Newport 61, Chewelah 46: Amber Lewis had 12 points, seven assists and five steals to lead the Grizzlies (10-4, 1-1). Liz Cobb led visiting Chewelah (2-11, 0-2) with 12 points.

Bi-County League 2B

Liberty 46, Northwest Christian 44: Kristina Cornmesser made an 8-foot jumper with less than a minute to go to lift the Lancers (6-3, 1-2) past the visiting Crusaders (6-4, 2-2).

Panorama League

Springdale 70, Cusick 33: The host Chargers (9-1, 3-1) played their best defense of the season as they put a headlock on the Panthers (7-3, 5-3).

Republic 55, Northport 34: Baily Osterberg had 13 points to lead the visiting Tigers (2-9, 1-5) past the Mustangs (0-9, 0-6). Shyanne Wilson led Northport with 22.

Selkirk 62, Inchelium 46: The Rangers (6-4, 3-0) got 15 points from Angelina MacArthur as they topped the Hornets (5-4, 3-3) at Inchelium.

St. George’s 39, St. Michael’s 36: The Warriors (3-4, 2-3) pulled within a point with 30 seconds to go, but the visiting Dragons (4-4, 3-0) made two free throws to secure the win.

Columbia (Hunters) 62, Curlew 36: Krista Colvin scored 23 points as the Lions (9-1, 7-0) handled the visiting Cougars (5-7, 3-6).

District 9 North League

Rosalia 33, LaCrosse-Washtucna 32: Meaghan Reddish scored two baskets in the final 15 seconds – the winner coming off a steal, as the Spartans (5-7, 1-4) tripped the visiting Tigercats (1-5, 0-2).

Asotin 65, Tekoa-Oakesdale 42: Shelby Barnes hit 9 of 16 field goals on the way to 27 points as the visiting Panthers defeated the Nighthawks.

Non-league

Almira/Coulee-Hartline 46, Davenport 38: Nikki Osborne had 16 rebounds, the third straight game she led her team, as the Warriors (10-0) topped the visiting Gorillas (4-4).

St. John-Endicott 66, Dayton 48: Alli Winters had 12 of her 18 points in the second quarter to lead the Eagles (8-0) past the visiting Bulldogs.

Lind-Ritzville 47, Sprague-Harrington 24: The Broncos (5-4) forced 32 turnovers in a road win.

Valley Christian 59, Wilbur-Creston 15: Katie Worley scored 12 of her game-high 24 points in the third quarter as the visiting Panthers (1-7) pulled away from the Wildcats (15).

Colton 61, Liberty Christian 22: Mollie Kramer led the Wildcats (8-0) with 18 points in a road victory.

Colfax 70, Odessa 30: Kayla Johnson had 14 points to lead the Bulldogs (8-1) over the visiting Tigers (2-6).
