Priest River remains perfect

Jake Weimer scored 11 of his team-high 23 points in the third quarter and the Priest River Spartans rolled to a 57-33 Intermountain League boys basketball victory over the Kellogg Wildcats Thursday night at Kellogg.

Tyler Douglas added 13 points for Priest River (8-0, 2-0).

Kyle Kenser led Kellogg (5-6, 1-2) with 15 points.

Clark Fork 48, Kootenai 45: In North Star League play, Jared Broggi had a double-double with 16 points and 14 rebounds and blocked three shots to give the host Wampus Cats (2-9, 1-3) a victory over the Warriors (2-9, 2-2).

Clark Fork had a 32-17 lead at the half, but Kootenai outscored the Wampus Cats 18-6 in the third quarter.

Almira/Coulee-Hartline 56, Kittitas 42: Derek Isaak had 24 points, six assists, five rebounds and three steals to lead the Warriors (10-4) past the visiting Coyotes in non-league play at Coulee City.

Girls basketball

Lakeland 54, Bonners Ferry 40: Camille Reynolds scored 14 points and Ali Whitted added 12 to lead the host Hawks (11-4) to a non-league victory over the Badgers (9-4) at Rathdrum.

Ashley Winkelseth and Erin Hiatt combined for 24 points for the Badgers.

Almira/Coulee-Hartline 49, Kittitas 35: The Warriors (12-1) cruised to victory over the visiting Coyotes at Coulee City. No details were reported.


Stacie Davis won the uneven bars and floor exercise and took second in the all-around to lead University to a first-place team finish in a Greater Spokane League meet at U-Hi.

Alana Norman of Shadle Park was the all-around winner with a first-place finish in the vault and second-place finishes in the three other events. Her Highlanders were second in the team race.
