Boys basketball: Bagby delivers Eagles’ victory

Brady Bagby collected a double-double with 22 points and 10 rebounds as West Valley knocked off the Great Northern League’s No. 2 team, Deer Park, 60-42 Tuesday at West Valley.

With the Stags (10-5, 6-3) coming off a tough loss to Clarkston, the Eagles (8-7, 5-4) jumped out to a lead at halftime and then went on a 31-16 run throughout the second half to earn the win.

Cheney 65, Colville 52: Dalton Harding scored a career-high 20 points with three boards and two assists and the Blackhawks (10-5, 6-3) created separation with a 21-9 second quarter against the visiting Indians (2-13, 1-8). Cheney’s DeAngelo Jones finished with 16 points, going 9 of 9 from the free-throw line in the second half.

Pullman 81, Medical Lake 26: Four players scored in double figures for the Greyhounds (7-8, 6-3), led by Corey Langerveld’s 13 points, and the Cardinals (2-13, 1-8) fell behind 20-5 after the first quarter in Pullman.

Inland Empire 5A

Post Falls 64, Lake City 46: Connor Hill scored a game-high 24 points and Malcolm Colbert hit 6 of 10 3-pointers to end with 19 points and six assists as the Trojans (14-2, 3-1) took control of first place with a win over the Timberwolves (10-7, 3-2) in Post Falls.

Inland Empire 4A

Moscow 68, Lakeland 42: Playing for the top spot in the IEL 4A, the Bears (12-4, 2-1) opened up a 21-point halftime lead en route to a convincing win over the Hawks (11-7, 1-1) in Rathdrum. Jake Helbling led the Bears with 14 points while Mac Stannard added 13 and six assists. Joel Underdahl scored 16 for Lakeland.

Northeast A

Freeman 68, Kettle Falls 28: Taylor Vold scored all 15 of his points in the first half and added five rebounds and six assists and the Scotties (15-4, 7-0) routed the Bulldogs (2-16, 0-7) at the HUB in Spokane Valley. Peter Heinen added 15 points for the Scotties, while Kasey Morgan scored 15 to lead the Bulldogs.

Bi-County 2B

Northwest Christian 74, Valley Christian 21: Daniel Kuiper had 18 points to pace the Crusaders (16-3, 10-1), who clinched first place in the 2B division with their win over the Panthers (2-17, 0-11) in Colbert.

Colfax 54, Liberty 41: In the hunt for second place in 2B, the Bulldogs (13-6, 8-3) notched a win over the host Lancers (5-14, 1-10) behind 13 points each from Tanner Gay, Alex Teade and James Robinson.

Lind-Ritzville 58, Davenport 47: Bryce Hilzer and Jake Eichner each tallied 16 points and the Broncos (15-4, 8-3) outscored the Gorillas (14-5, 7-5) 23-7 in the fourth quarter to cap a rally in Davenport. L-R made 8 of 16 from 3-point range.

Bi-County 1B

Almira/Coulee-Hartline 70, Sprague-Harrington 45: Senior Cody Dillon scored a game-high 22 points, with 20 of those coming in the first half against the Falcons (2-17, 1-5) in his final regular-season home game for the Warriors (12-7, 4-1). Led by Dillon in the opening two quarters, the Warriors opened a 25-point lead by halftime that would hold the rest of the way.

Caribou Trail

Lake Roosevelt 55, Omak 33: Cade Egbert finished with a game-high 19 points, Ty Egbert added 16 and the Raiders pulled away late against the host Pioneers. After leading by seven at halftime, the Raiders outscored Omak 26-11 to build its final advantage.


Coeur d’Alene 85, Sandpoint 64: Deon Watson and Connor White combined for 29 points and the Vikings (12-5) pulled away early, outscoring the Bulldogs (5-10) 21-3 in the first quarter in Sandpoint. Stefan Buratto had 29 points to lead all scorers, while Skyler Tucker added 15 for the Bulldogs.

Reardan 50, Wilbur-Creston 43: Grant Schultz scored 15 of his 24 points in the second half and added 11 rebounds as the Indians (10-9) battled back from a deficit at halftime to beat the host Wildcats (11-8). WC’s Austin Snavely scored 13 points in the first half but was held to eight in the second.
