Roundup: LC heats up after halftime to beat Richland

Lewis and Clark’s game Saturday night against Richland at The Fitz tournament was a tale of two halves.

After a sluggish first half, the host Tigers exploded in the third and fourth quarters and beat Richland 51-46.

LC managed just 13 first-half points, but scored 38 after halftime. With about 3 minutes left in the third quarter, the Tigers (2-0) took their first lead – one they didn’t relinquish.

Tanner Johnson scored 22 points – 11 in the decisive third quarter – to lead Lewis and Clark.

Austin Damon added 12 points and seven rebounds.

Shadle Park 60, West Valley (Yakima) 57: Skyler Boese scored 16 points and made two free throws with 8 seconds left, giving the Highlanders (2-0) a win over the Rams at The Fitz. Shadle held a commanding 12-point lead at the half, but had to thwart off a West Valley rally in the second half.
