Fourth-quarter run gives East Valley victory

Ronnie Jarvis tallied a game-high 20 points to go along with 11 rebounds and East Valley (8-2, 1-1) used an 8-0 run in the fourth quarter to hold off Medical Lake (7-3, 1-1) 45-41 in Great Northern League action Friday in ML.

The Cardinals made a 10-0 run early in the fourth, but could not keep up the momentum as leading scorer Kevin Fisher (16 points) fouled out with two minutes remaining in the game. Devon Prince added 14 for the Cardinals, while Jake Reynolds had 15 points for the Knights.

West Valley 71, Cheney 63: After being held to 15 points in his last two games, WV leading scorer Brady Bagby finished with 18 points and seven rebounds, going 8 of 12 from the free-throw line, to lead the Eagles (7-2, 1-1) to a victory over the visiting Blackhawks (6-4, 0-1). Jake Love chipped in 14 for WV, while Parker Franklin scored 15 points for the Blackhawks.

Pullman 52, Deer Park 18: Corey Langerveld scored 15 points, going 2 of 3 from the 3-point line, and the Greyhounds (8-1, 2-0) pulled a way late, going on a 9-0 run in the fourth quarter against the host Stags (4-6, 0-2). DP scored six points in the opening half and trailed Pullman by 24 at halftime.

Northeast A

Riverside 59, Colville 56: Jacob Biggs finished with 22 points and the Rams (6-5, 2-0) rallied from a six-point deficit with 4 minutes remaining to beat the Indians (5-5, 0-2) in Riverside. Jordan Wood added 14 points for the Rams, who hit 6 of 6 free throws down the stretch to secure the win.

Freeman 52, Newport 42: Cody Unfred scored a game-high 14 points and the host Scotties (6-6, 2-0) used a 48-31 rebounding advantage and sound defense to knock off the Grizzlies (7-5, 1-1). The Grizzlies scored just 42 points after averaging nearly 70 points per game this season.

Lakeside (WA) 68, Chewelah 27: Ryan Gunderson finished with 21 points to lead all scorers and added 15 rebounds as the host Eagles (5-6, 1-1) pulled away late by outscoring the Cougars (4-8, 0-2) 19-2 in the fourth quarter in Nine Mile Falls.

St. George’s 63, Kettle Falls 29: Karl Muelheims scored 10 of his 19 points in the first quarter helping the visiting Dragons (5-4, 4-1) take a 21-5 lead through one quarter against the Bulldogs (1-9, 0-6). KF scored just nine points in the opening half, getting nine points from Luke Beardslee to lead the team.

Colfax 66, Springdale 39: Brandon Gfeller led all scorers with 18 points, J.J. Robinson added 13 points and nine rebounds and the Bulldogs (7-1, 4-0) outrebounded the visiting Chargers (3-5, 1-4) 45-25 to earn the win.

Northwest Christian 65, Liberty 27: Kwinn Hanson had 16 points and eight rebounds and Cole Ramey added 14 points and five assists as the Crusaders (7-1, 5-0) kept their half-game lead over Colfax with a win over the Lancers (2-8, 1-5) in Colbert.

Lind-Ritzville/Sprague 56, Davenport 47: Jake Eichner hit four 3-pointers and scored 18 points and the visiting Broncos (6-3, 3-2) used a 19-point third quarter to put the Gorillas (4-4, 1-3) away. Joey Gunning had 14 points and 14 rebounds to lead the Gorillas.

Bi-County 1B

Valley Christian 70, Odessa-Harrington 46: Tyler Tipke shot 60 percent from the 3-point line, tallying a game-high 33 points as the Panthers (8-2, 1-0) used a 26-10 run in the third quarter to build a 19-point lead against the host Titans (3-8, 0-1). VC’s Kolby Blew added 11 points, while Jared King also had 11 to lead OH.

Almira/Coulee-Hartline 70, Wilbur-Creston 46: Derek Isaak poured in all 29 of his points in the first half and added seven rebounds and the Warriors (11-0, 1-0) cruised to a win in their league opener against the host Wildcats (6-2, 0-1).

Selkirk 54, Columbia 38: Hunter Enyeart led the Rangers (4-6, 3-2) with a game-high 24 points, helping them pull away late for the win over the host Lions (1-10, 1-4) in Hunters. Avery Miller added 14 points for the Rangers, and Dominick Marquez had 11 to lead the Lions.

Northport 63, Curlew 48: Adrian Konkler and David Higgins combined for 29 points and the Mustangs (5-5, 2-3) used a 21-point second quarter to build a 10-point halftime lead against the host Cougars (6-3, 2-2). Philip Johnson added 11 points, nine assists and eight rebounds for the Mustangs.

Southeast 1B

Rosalia 58, Colton 34: Jared Hereford went 7 of 9 from the field and scored a game-high 15 points as each Spartan (10-1, 5-0) player scored in their win over the visiting Wildcats (5-5, 4-1). Casey Brown added 13 points for the Spartans, who handed Colton its first league loss of the season.

St. John-Endicott 61, LaCrosse-Washtucna 49: Mason Van Lith scored 13 points and Kyle Raynor and Kaleb Simon each added 10 points as the visiting Eagles (3-6, 2-3) earned a win over the Tigercats (5-4, 2-2). Jeff Zimmer scored 19 points for the Tigercats.

Garfield-Palouse 44, Touchet 42: Race Martin finished with 13 points, Nathan Cocking added 10 points and 10 rebounds and the Vikings (5-4, 3-2) held off the host Indians (3-4, 1-3) with a 17-point fourth quarter. Matt Kates led the Indians with 13 points.

Pomeroy 67, Tekoa-Oakesdale 57 (OT): Justin Ruark and Tanner Feider combined for 29 points on 14-of-23 shooting and Sean Beale went 8 for 8 from the free-throw line in overtime to lift the visiting Pirates (1-7, 1-4) over the Nighthawks (1-8, 1-4).

Nonleague

St. Maries 62, Orofino 41: Zach Lehman led all scorers with 18 points and added eight rebounds and seven assists and the Lumberjacks (9-2) took a 17-point lead at halftime, cruising to a win over the host Maniacs.

Priest River 69, Sandpoint 54: Eric Holbrook tallied 23 points on 7-of-12 shooting and the Spartans (8-3) outscored the host Bulldogs (4-5) 46-31 in the second half to earn the victory. Blaine Shultz led the Bulldogs with 21 points.
