Knights hold off Deer Park’s surge

Alicia Christensen tallied 13 points and six steals and visiting East Valley (7-4, 3-0) held off a late run to beat Deer Park (4-7, 0-3) 50-44 in Great Northern League action Saturday.

Alison Ruygrok led the Stags with 14 points and seven steals, helping Deer Park cut the deficit to four.

But the Knights stayed in front, led by Erin Wallman, who scored a game-high 17 points.

Pullman 52, Cheney 43: Anna Guo went 7 of 12 from the floor and scored a game-high 19 points, leading the visiting Greyhounds (4-6, 2-1) to a win over the Blackhawks (4-5, 0-2). After trailing by four at the half, the Greyhounds went on a 15-2 run in the third quarter to take the lead for good.

Clarkston 65, Medical Lake 31: K.C. McConnell notched 27 points and Jamie Weisner added 12 points and 12 rebounds as the Bantams (6-3, 1-1) thumped the visiting Cardinals (5-6, 1-2). The Bantams built an early lead with a 22-4 run in the first quarter.

Bi-County 2B

Kettle Falls 40, Lind-Ritzville/Sprague 25: Nikka Yankus’ 13 points and eight blocks led the Bulldogs (7-4, 5-2) to a fast start and a convincing win over the host Broncos (5-5, 3-3). The Bulldogs scored 25 points in the first half to take a 10-point lead before holding LRS to just 10 points after the break.

Colfax 47, Liberty 21: Amelie Bruya finished with nine points, Nicole Sheer added eight and the Bulldogs (4-5, 4-1) doubled up the host Lancers (2-8, 1-5) in Spangle. After leading the Lancers 28-16 at halftime, the Bulldogs went on a 9-0 run in the third quarter to put the game away.

Davenport 63, Springdale 36: Miranda Mielke tallied 10 of her 21 points in the second quarter as the Gorillas (4-5, 3-2) scored 25 points in that quarter to take a 16-point halftime lead against the host Chargers (0-9, 0-6). Mylisah Choate added 10 points for the Gorillas.

Reardan 57, St. George’s 17: Liz Flowers finished with 18 points and Chantel Heath added 11 points as the Indians (9-2, 7-0) held the host Dragons (1-9, 1-5) to no more than seven points in a quarter. The Indians scored 26 points in the fourth to pull away late.

Almira/Coulee-Hartline 67, Odessa-Harrington 27: Nikki Osborne led three Warriors (11-1, 2-0) in double figures with 19 points and ACH used a 22-7 run in the third quarter to finish off the host Titans (4-7, 1-1). Madeline Isaak added 14 points for ACH.

Valley Christian 46, St. Michael’s 25: Jasmine Ayala led all scorers with 12 points and the visiting Panthers (5-6, 1-1) outscored the Warriors (1-5, 0-2) 36-14 in the first half to put the game away early.


Selkirk 65, Curlew 40: Courtney Holter tied the game high with 15 points, Annie Couch added 12 points and the host Rangers (9-3, 3-2) outscored the Cougars (4-6, 1-3) 18-5 in the fourth quarter to secure the win in Ione. Chanel Somday tallied 15 points for the Cougars.

Wellpinit 71, Inchelium 44: Niquie Ali poured in 28 points, scoring 12 during a 24-point first quarter for the host Redskins (7-5, 4-1). The Redskins took a 14-point halftime lead and then outscored the Hornets (1-6, 1-4) 19-5 in the third quarter to put the game away.

Rosalia 39, Garfield-Palouse 22: Briann Maley scored 20 of the Spartans’ (8-4, 3-3) 39 points, helping them pull away with a 29-10 edge in the second half against the host Vikings (5-5, 2-4). Maley scored 15 of her 20 points after the break.

Tekoa-Oakesdale 55, LaCrosse-Washtucna 18: Alexandria Overton outscored the Tigercats (1-9, 0-5) by herself, finishing with 25 points to lead the host Nighthawks (4-6, 2-4) to the victory. Courtenay Perry added 13 points for TO.

Caribou Trail

Lake Roosevelt 64, Pateros 50: Jada Desautel finished with 22 points and the Raiders (4-6, 1-2) outscored the visiting Billygoats (3-6, 2-4) 21-10 in the first quarter and held on for the win. Dominique Pleasants added 13 points for LR.


Colville 57, Lakeland 51 (2OT): Jordan Brons led all scorers with 18 points, Chelsee Sager and Tanna Morris combined for 25 points and the Indians (11-0) outscored the host Hawks (9-7) 8-2 in the second overtime to pull away for the win in Rathdrum. Jenna Davis led the Hawks with 15 points.

Lakeside (WA) 46, Northwest Christian 27: Taylor Flemming and Jenna Widman scored 12 points apiece and Lexie Zappone added 10 points as the Eagles (9-3) cruised to a win against the Crusaders (4-4) in Colbert. The Eagles held NWC to 11 points after halftime to extend their six-point halftime lead.

Republic 51, Cusick 38: Tori Orestad and Alyssa Stout combined for 34 points and the Tigers (7-6) held off the Panthers (1-7) to earn the win in Cusick. The Tigers built a 32-point lead through three quarters, but the Panthers rallied in the fourth, outscoring Republic 29-10 in the final frame.

Moses Lake Christian 48, Wilbur-Creston 20: Rachel Verhage tallied 13 points and 13 rebounds and the visiting Lions held the Wildcats (4-5) to just 17 percent shooting.
