Corey Langerveld and Austin Drake scored 19 and 15 points, respectively, and helped Pullman (14-4, 8-3) hold off visiting Clarkston (15-3, 8-2) 57-53 in Great Northern League play Saturday.
Langerveld and Drake had a hand in helping the Greyhounds take 19-9 lead after one quarter. The Bantams could never recover, despite 15 points from Trey Sobotta. The win assured the Greyhounds of at least one home playoff game in the district tournament.
West Valley 63, East Valley 52: Brady Bagby poured in a game-high 24 points and added seven rebounds as the host Eagles (16-2, 9-1) climbed into sole possession of first place in the GNL with a win over the Knights (11-7, 4-6). The Eagles used an 18-9 run in the second quarter to take a nine-point halftime lead. Joey Strehlou led EV with 12 points and four rebounds.
Cheney 56, Medical Lake 44: C.J. Skillingstad scored 13 of his 16 points in the second half and the host Blackhawks (12-7, 6-5) erased a two-point deficit at halftime, outscoring the Cardinals (8-12, 2-10) 35-21 after the break. Diondre Moore-Young added eight points, 14 rebounds and four assists for the Blackhawks. Kevin Fisher had 15 points for ML.
Lakeside 63, Newport 58: Ryan Gunderson finished with 18 points and 17 rebounds and the host Eagles (12-7, 8-1) built a nine-point lead after one quarter and held off the Grizzlies (11-8, 5-4) the rest of the way in Nine Mile Falls.
Colville 50, Freeman 48: Matt Hubbard tallied 17 points, Alex Pond added 15 points and the visiting Indians (10-9, 4-5) scored 20 points in the fourth quarter to edge the Scotties (9-10, 5-4). Cody Unfred led the Scotties with 15 points and Cameron Duckett had eight points and five rebounds. With the loss, the Scotties remain tied in second place with Newport.
Chewelah 63, Riverside 42: Andrew Pugh scored 10 of his game-high 19 points in the third quarter and the Cougars (5-14, 1-9) broke through for their first league win, going on a 19-5 run in the third quarter to beat the host Rams (8-10, 4-5). Nick Naccarato and Derek Smith each added 16 points for the Cougars. Jordan Wood led the Rams with 18 points.
Colfax 63, Northwest Christian 48: Brandon Gfeller hit 7 of 11 attempts from 3-point range and finished with a game-high 30 points and the visiting Bulldogs (15-2, 12-1) upended the first-place Crusaders (16-2, 12-1) to move into a tie atop the Bi-County 2B standings in Colbert. Kwinn Hanson led the Crusaders with 22 points.
In two games between Colfax and NWC, neither home team has won on its court, leaving both teams with 12-1 league records.
Springdale 85, Kettle Falls 36: Uconn Peone scored 20 of his 33 points in the first half and Rodney Abrahamson had 13 points, 15 rebounds and 10 assists as the host Chargers (7-9, 5-8) rolled to a win over the Bulldogs (1-16, 0-13). Kendall Peone added 17 points for the Chargers, who held KF to 11 points in the second half.
Davenport 55, St. George’s 49: Joey Gunning scored a team-high 17 points, Cole Evers added 14 points and 12 rebounds and the host Gorillas (9-7, 6-6) hit eight free throws in the fourth quarter to knock off the Dragons (8-8, 7-5).
Lind-Ritzville/Sprague 73, Reardan 57: Bryce Hilzer hit 10 of 16 free throws and finished with 21 points and 10 steals and the host Broncos (8-9, 5-8) hit nine 3-pointers, snapping a five-game losing streak with their win over the Indians (8-9, 7-6). Roy Wlaser scored 18 points to lead the Indians.
Wellpinit 85, Inchelium 39: Greg Wynecoop and Eric Pakootas each led with 17 points and the visiting Redskins (16-4, 12-1) outscored the Hornets (3-14, 2-11) 71-25 in the first three quarters, moving into a tie for first place with the win. The Redskins won the rebounding battle 50-16.
Northport 50, Columbia 43: Draian Konkler and Michal Marko combined for 27 points and the Mustangs (10-8, 8-5) held the host Lions (2-17, 2-11) to 16 first-half points building a 12-point halftime lead in Hunters. Gabe Jones scored a game-high 16 points for the Lions.
Selkirk 57, Curlew 44: Avery Miller, Hunter Enyeart and Nick Gardner combined for 44 points and the Rangers (7-12, 6-7) outscored the host Cougars (7-11, 4-9) 30-9 in the second and third quarters. Dakota Drennan had 14 points to lead the Cougars.
Almira/Coulee-Hartline 99, St. Michael’s 59: Robert Hurka tallied 10 points and 11 assists and Cody Jess scored 23 as the host ACH Warriors (18-0, 6-0) scored at least 20 points in each quarter against St. Michael’s (3-10, 1-4). Chris Shelley’s game-high 27 points led St. Michael’s.
Wilbur-Creston 47, Odessa-Harrington 39: Damon Abel tallied career highs in points (17) and rebounds (17) and the host Wildcats (10-7, 2-4) held the Titans (4-14, 1-6) to less than 30 percent shooting from the field. Justin Hunt led the Titans with 15 points.
St. John-Endicott 50, LaCrosse-Washtucna 49: Ben Harrison sank the front end of a 1-and-1 with no time remaining allowing the host Eagles (8-9, 6-6) to complete the comeback against the Tigercats (6-11, 3-9). Evan Raynor led SJE with 14 points and Jeff Zimmer had 16 for the Tigercats.
Touchet 38, Garfield-Palouse 36: Jake Hodenfield’s 15 points led all scorers and Eric Hines hit a pair of free throws with 4.9 seconds remaining to lift the visiting Indians (6-11, 4-8) to a win over the Vikings (9-8, 7-5). Race Martin had 13 points and 11 rebounds for the Vikings, whose guards shot 3 of 24 for the game.
Rosalia 67, Colton 46: Nathan Richards shot 9 of 14 from the field and finished with 24 points and six rebounds as the visiting Spartans (17-1, 12-0) opened a 14-point halftime lead, outscoring the Wildcats (11-7, 9-3) 27-16 in the second quarter.
Pomeroy 54, Tekoa-Oakesdale 53: Mitch Ruchert had 15 points and Sean Beale hit two free throws in the final seconds to secure the win for the Pirates (4-12, 4-9) against the visiting Nighthawks (4-14, 3-9).
Post Falls 61, Moscow 34: Matt Lickfold scored 13 points, Connor Hill added 11 points and the host Trojans (13-2) scored 57 of their 61 points in the first three quarters against the Bears (4-10). The Trojans held Moscow to 12 points in the second and third quarters.
Cusick 65, Valley Christian 56: Tyler Edwards had 21 points and Louie Bluff added 17 as visiting Cusick (14-6) jumped out to a four-point halftime lead after outscoring VC 23-15 in the second quarter. Noah McConahy tallied 11 points, seven assists and seven rebounds for VC.
Chelan 60, Lake Roosevelt 51: Balanced scoring helped the Goats (10-5) defeat the host Raiders (13-3) in Coulee Dam. Ty Egbert scored 26 points to lead the Raiders.
