King guides Odessa-Harrington into State 1B semifinal

Making its first state appearance since 2007, the Odessa-Harrington football team clearly wasn’t interested in a one-and-done showing.

The Titans’ offense never stopped producing in a 76-36 win over King’s Way in the first round of the State 1B playoffs Saturday in Centralia, Wash.

Thanks in large part to Jared King, Odessa-Harrington (8-3) built a 40-16 halftime lead, essentially putting the game away.

King ran for two scores and threw for two scores in the first half. He finished with 240 rushing yards and five touchdowns and 232 passing yards and three scores.

Brett Larmer added 90 rushing yards and scored four touchdowns – three rushing and one receiving. He also had a team-high 13 tackles.

Odessa-Harrington advances to play Neah Bay next weekend. Neah Bay advanced with a 58-40 win over Lummi.

Waitsburg-Prescott 42, Lind-Ritzville 7: Zach Bartlow did just about everything in the Cardinals’ win over the Broncos (9-2) in the quarterfinals of the State 2B playoffs in Pasco.

Bartlow threw for two scores and returned a fumble 88 yards for another touchdown. He completed 14 of 20 passes for 208 yards. Billy Brown ran for 171 yards on 13 carries and scored twice for Waitsburg-Prescott.

The Cardinals (11-0) advance to the semifinals and will play Colfax (11-0) next weekend.

Pomeroy 68, Wellpinit 24: The Pirates won a game ended at the half by the mercy rule. Pomeroy was up 38-24 after the first quarter than blanked Wellpinit (9-3) in the second quarter. Pomeroy (10-1) next plays Almira/Coulee-Hartline (12-0).
