Mead, Gonzaga Prep remain tied for first

Mead defeated host Lewis and Clark 69-52 on Friday night to remain in a tie for first in Greater Spokane League girls basketball. The Panthers (6-0, 4-0) were led by Jade Redmon with 18 points. Riley Lupfer led LC (2-2, 2-2) with 14.

Gonzaga Prep 58, Central Valley 45: The Bears (1-4, 0-4) fought hard before succumbing to the visiting Bullpups (4-0, 4-0). Hannah Caudill led G-Prep with 12 points. Molly Barnhart and Madison Hovren led CV with 14 apiece.

Shadle Park 57, Mt. Spokane 43: The visiting Highlanders (3-1, 3-1) took advantage of 16 turnovers by the Wildcats (3-2, 2-2) in the first half. Kendra Winchester led Shadle with 17 points. Brooke Reilly had 17 and 10 rebounds for the Wildcats.

University 54, North Central 30: The Titans (2-3, 2-2) grabbed 15 offensive rebounds in their home victory. Cassie Shillam led U-Hi with 20 points and 11 rebounds and Kayleigh Valley had 12 points and 14 rebounds. Jaclyn Bordner led NC (0-6, 0-4) with 15 points and six rebounds.

Ferris 70, Rogers 34: The visiting Saxons (5-1, 3-1) cruised to a 23-5 lead in the first quarter. Brittne Johnson and Jill Louthian had 17 and 14 points, respectively, to lead Ferris while Mercedes Rucker had 10 for Rogers (0-4, 0-4).
