The Gonzaga Prep girls basketball team secured second place Tuesday in the Greater Spokane League.
The visiting Bullpups outscored the Mt. Spokane Wildcats 21-4 in the deciding second quarter as Gonzaga Prep pulled away 61-49.
G-Prep held Mt. Spokane to no field goals in the second period. The Wildcats also had 20 turnovers.
Lindsay Stockton led G-Prep (14-5 overall, 12-5 league) with 17 points.
Brooke Reilly led Mt. Spokane (6-13, 5-12) with 25 points, six rebounds and three steals.
Central Valley 55, University 43: The Titans (13-6, 11-6) led 26-20 at halftime, but it was all Bears (18-1, 16-1) in the second half in the Stinky Sneaker spirit game at the Arena.
CV outscored U-Hi 35-17 in the final two quarters.
Three players scored in double figures for the Bears. Brooke Gallaway led with 18 points, Katie Estey had 13 and Chantelle Fitting added 11.
Kayleigh Valley led the Titans with 15 points.
Mead 56, Shadle Park 41: Big first and fourth periods for the visiting and surging Panthers (11-8, 11-6) were too much for the Highlanders (12-7, 11-6).
The Panthers got out to a 19-11 lead in the first quarter and they finished by outscoring Shadle 17-10.
Jade Redmon led Mead with 24 points, 10 coming in the first quarter. Delany Junkermier added 13.
Aleisha Hathaway led Shadle with 15 points and Paige Reidt had 13.
Lewis and Clark 59, North Central 38: The Tigers (10-9, 10-7) used big bursts in the second and third quarters to stop the visiting Indians (4-15, 4-13).
LC outscored NC a combined 37-16 in the middle periods.
Joelle Tampien led LC with 14 points, Julie Moravec had 12 and Nakia Arquette had 10 and seven rebounds. Taylor Howlett added six rebounds and five assists.
Hailey Markham-Patti led NC with 15 points.
Ferris 75, Rogers 31: Brittney Johnson and Cassidy Phillips were a one-two tandem for the visiting Saxons (7-12, 5-12).
Johnson scored 24 points and Phillips had 16. Jasmin Andrews led Rogers (1-17, 0-16) with 11.
