Pullman posts big win over Deer Park

The Pullman Greyhounds are back.

Led by Justin Cillay, the Greyhounds turned a six-point deficit at halftime into a 48-20 rout of Deer Park in a Great Northern League game Friday night in Pullman.

Pullman (4-1, 2-0), which finished 1-9 in 2011, avenged a 38-14 loss to the Stags (3-2, 0-1) a year and five days ago.

Cillay threw for 293 yards and three touchdowns and also scored two rushing touchdowns. Jake Spaniszewski caught all three of Cillay’s touchdown passes.

The Greyhounds trailed 20-14 at halftime, then outscored Deer Park 34-0 in the second half.

East Valley 28, Colville 7: Isaac Jordan ran for 159 yards and two touchdowns as the Knights (5-0, 2-0) kept their perfect record intact with a win over the host Indians (2-3, 0-2). Colville’s Colton Vining scored from a yard out in the first quarter to open the scoring, but East Valley scored the next four touchdowns. Taylor Watkins added 105 passing yards and a third-quarter touchdown for East Valley.

West Valley 49, Clarkston 20: Tyler Stavnes threw five touchdown passes and the Eagles (4-1, 2-0) raced by the visiting Bantams (1-4, 0-2). Terrynce Duke caught three touchdowns for West Valley, which put the game away with 28 unanswered third-quarter points.

Inland Empire 5A

Lake City 21, Lewiston 19: Mitch Bevacqua scored two first-half touchdowns and the Timberwolves (3-1, 2-0) held on to beat the host Bengals (2-2, 0-1). Bevacqua returned the opening kickoff 94 yards for the game’s first score.

Northeast A

Chewelah 36, Kettle Falls 6: The Cougars’ defense held the Bulldogs (0-5, 0-3) scoreless for the first three quarters and Chewelah (4-1, 2-0) cruised to the win at Chewelah. Mackinzie Miller opened the scoring with a 90-yard kickoff return in the first quarter. Derek Smith and Cordell Bean scored two rushing touchdowns apiece. Smith finished with 140 yards on 15 carries and completed eight passes for 89 yards.

Medical Lake 20, Lakeside (WA) 7: The Cardinals (5-0, 3-0) forced five turnovers and beat the Eagles (2-3, 1-2) in Nine Mile Falls. Micah Tappero ran for two first-half scores and Steven Velasquiez scored on a 13-yard run in the third quarter for Medical Lake.

Northeast 2B

Colfax 45, Liberty 12: Kellen McNannay had two rushing touchdowns and a receiving score as the Bulldogs (3-0, 1-0) got out to a hot start and blazed past the visiting Lancers (2-3, 0-1). Brady Ellis threw for two touchdowns for Colfax, which led 45-6 at halftime.

Reardan 28, Davenport 0: Charlie Eldred ran for 135 yards and two touchdowns as the Indians (3-1, 1-0) shut out the visiting Gorillas (2-2, 0-1).

Lind-Ritzville/Sprague 40, Springdale 13: Cort Ruzicka ran for 135 yards and two touchdowns as the Broncos (4-0, 1-0) routed the host Chargers (1-2, 0-1). Lind-Ritzville/Sprague led 33-0 at halftime.

Southeast 2B

Tekoa-Oakesdale/Rosalia 34, Dayton 0: Craig Nelson ran for 115 yards and two touchdowns and caught a touchdown pass to lead the Nighthawks (5-0, 3-0) past the visiting Bulldogs (0-4, 0-4).

Northeast 1B North

Columbia-Inchelium 60, Curlew 8: Dustin Wyborney and Quentin Holford scored two rushing touchdowns apiece as the Lions (3-2, 2-1) took control from the outset and raced past the host Cougars (0-5, 0-3). Curlew’s lone score came on Kolten Fanning 15-yard run in the third quarter.

Selkirk 60, Northport 28: The Rangers (3-2, 1-1) had four plays go for 45 yards or more in a rout of the host Mustangs (2-3, 0-2). Beau Taylor and Trevor Grant scored three touchdowns apiece and quarterback Dominic Cain threw for three scores. Northport was led by Jeremiah Johnson, who ran for two touchdowns and caught another.

Cusick 92, Wellpinit 16: Ryan Sample accounted for 10 total touchdowns in the Panthers’ rout of the visiting Redskins (4-1, 2-1). Sample threw for six touchdowns, ran for two, caught one and returned a kickoff for another score. Cusick (5-0, 2-0) led 60-8 at halftime.

Northeast 1B South

Almira/Coulee-Hartline 46, Waterville 0: Drew Isaak threw for two touchdowns and ran for another as the Warriors (4-1, 3-0) dumped the host Shockers (1-4, 1-2). Mitch Hunt added three touchdowns – a punt return, catch, and run – for Almira/Coulee-Hartline, which led 32-0 at halftime.

Odessa-Harrington 52, Wilbur-Creston 6: Justin Hunt ran for 207 yards and four touchdowns and threw for two scores as the Titans (3-2, 2-0) routed the host Wildcats (1-4, 1-2). Hunt ran for 197 yards and all four of his touchdowns in the first half. Jake Tanke and Cade Weber had touchdown receptions for Odessa-Harrington.

Southeast 1B

LaCrosse-Washtucna 62, Colton 20: Sawyer Hostetler ran for 276 yards on 29 carries and scored five touchdowns to lead the Tigercats (4-1, 2-0) past the visiting Wildcats (2-3, 0-2). Johnathan Holdren had six sacks on defense for LaCrosse-Washtucna.

Nonleague

Cheney 35, Sandpoint 13: Austin Kautzman scored three touchdowns and the Blackhawks’ offense never let up in a rout of the visiting Bulldogs (1-4). Kautzman ran for 151 yards on 19 carries and scored twice. He later added a 94-yard kickoff return to put Cheney (2-3) ahead 28-13. Eric Igbinoba added 128 yards and a touchdown on 13 carries for the Blackhawks.

Republic 48, Entiat 32: Angelo Rivera scored three rushing touchdowns and Republic (3-1) defeated visiting Entiat.
