The Gonzaga Prep girls basketball team remained in a first-place tie Tuesday, but it was anything but easy.
The visiting Central Valley Bears pushed the Bullpups for four quarters before falling 64-57 in Greater Spokane League play.
CV (7-8 overall, 5-8 league) took a 48-40 lead into the fourth quarter. But the Bullpups (14-1, 12-1) rallied as post Otiona Gildon scored 13 of her team-high 21 points. Kayla Leland added 15 points and Laura Stockton and Hannah Caudill had 10 each.
Mariah Cunningham led CV with 23 points and Madison Hovren had 16.
CV pushed G-Prep, starting in the first half. The Bullpups took a 31-28 lead into halftime.
Mead 60, Lewis and Clark 43: The Panthers (14-1, 12-1) used 20 assists to top the visiting Tigers (6-9, 6-7).
Jade Redmon led Mead with 21 points, eight rebounds and five assists, Ashlyn Lewey had 12 points and six rebounds and Delany Junkermier had 11 points and five assists. Mackenzie McPhee led with nine rebounds.
Taylor Howlett led LC with 16 points.
Mt. Spokane 60, Shadle Park 50: The surging Wildcats (10-5, 8-5) used free throws to hold off the Highlanders (8-7, 7-6) at Shadle.
Brooke Reilly led the Wildcats with 16 points and Megan Ulias had 12.
Sam Foote led Shadle with 16 points and Kendra Winchester had 11. Kaycee Hert had 10 rebounds.
University 51, North Central 22: The Titans (8-7, 7-6) made 7 of 9 3-point shots in the third quarter at NC.
Kayleigh Valley led the Titans with 11 points, eight rebounds and four assists. Morgan Hawley had 12 points.
Ferris 75, Rogers 36: The Saxons (9-6, 7-6) raced to a 46-13 lead by halftime at home.
Brittney Johnson led Ferris with 23 points, making 7 of 9 3-point shots. Kaley Lenhart had 18 and Abby Liss and Jill Louthian added 13 apiece.
Ferris made 17 3-pointers.
Talia Felice led Rogers (1-14, 0-13) with seven points.
