G-Prep’s Caudill commits to Montana State

Gonzaga Prep point guard Hannah Caudill has given Montana State University an oral commitment.

Caudill made her decision after a weekend visit to Cal Poly.

“One thing that determined my choice is my AAU team had a tournament last summer in Boston and (MSU head coach Tricia Binford) was the only coach out of the schools that were recruiting me who came and watched,” Caudill said. “It meant a lot to me. I connected with her.”

Caudill said six other schools offered scholarships. They were Cal Poly, Seattle University, Idaho, Northern Arizona, Idaho State and Portland State.

The 5-foot-6 Caudill averaged 10.3 points, 5.2 assists and 2.7 steals while leading G-Prep (24-4) to fourth at the State 4A tournament last year.

Caudill will join former Bullpups standout Lindsay Stockton at MSU. Stockton started several games last year as a true freshman.

Men’s tennis

Nazal dropped fourth-seeded Harrison Richmond 7-5, 6-1 on Monday before falling to Danil Zelenkov (George Washington University) 6-4, 6-4 today.

The loss moves the Santiago, Chile, native to 3-2 during the fall.
