The Lewis and Clark Tigers worked overtime to defeat the Gonzaga Prep Bullpups 2-1 in a shootout at Spokane Falls Community College in Greater Spokane League girls soccer action on Wednesday afternoon.
Sophomore Natalie Doran netted the winner for the Tigers (7-0 overall, 3-0 GSL) on the seventh shot of the shootout.
Olivia Ellis scored in the 12th minute to give the Tigers a 1-0 lead. Gonzaga Prep (4-5, 1-2) knotted the score in the 60th minute.
Lewis and Clark and CV are the last two undefeated teams in the league.
Elsewhere in the Greater Spokane League, the Mead Panthers (7-1, 2-1) rolled to a 6-0 shutout of the visiting North Central Indians (3-3, 1-2). The Panthers were led by Kara Marbury, who scored a pair of goals and added an assist, and Anna Kessler with a goal and an assist. … Freshman Kelsey Turnbow tallied three goals and the Central Valley Bears (7-0, 3-0) cruised to a 3-1 victory over the host University Titans (3-3, 2-1). University’s Megan Oliver notched an unassisted goal. … The visiting Shadle Park Highlanders (2-3, 1-2) defeated the Rogers Pirates 3-1 behind two goals from Sofia Pizzillo and a Keilah Shaw netter. The St. George’s Dragons (7-0, 2-0) received hat tricks from Erik Muelheims and Nik Avakyan, with Muelheims coming in the first 12 minutes of the match, en route to a 16-0 rout of the Northport Mustangs (0-1, 0-1) in Northeast 2B/1B play in Northport.
Michael Hamilton added two goals for St. George’s. Muelheims and Avakyan each added an assist.
