Jacqueline Hamby’s goal late in the second half helped Lewis and Clark stay undefeated in Greater Spokane League girls soccer with a 1-0 win over North Central Friday at Pacific Park.
From the left wing, Hamby dribbled past two Indians (3-4, 1-3) defenders and fired a shot from about 13 yards out, past North Central goalkeeper Mary Catherine Frantz, into the upper right-hand corner of the net.
The Tigers (8-0, 4-0) had a commanding 30-8 advantage in shots, but Frantz kept NC in it by turning aside 20 shots.
Central Valley 6, Shadle Park 0: Kelsey Turnbow’s three first-half goals helped the Bears (8-0, 4-0) top the host Highlanders (2-4, 1-3) and keep pace with Lewis and Clark atop the league standings.
Alaina Bates added a goal and two assists for CV.
Mead 3, Gonzaga Prep 0: Anna Kessler scored twice to power the Panthers (8-1, 3-1) past the host Bullpups (4-6, 1-3).
Kessler scored in the 20th minute on a rebound from her own shot. She added her second goal in the 80th minute. Chae Brown scored Mead’s other goal.
Ferris 10, Rogers 1: Junior Lauren Miller scored three goals to guide the Saxons (5-4, 2-2) to a rout of the host Pirates (3-6, 0-4).
Miller scored twice in the first 13 minutes and completed the hat trick in the 50th minute.
The Saxons held a 21-4 advantage in shots.
