Girls roundup: Trojans rally late, defeat Colville

Kim Reynolds capped Post Falls’ second-half rally with a 3-pointer from the wing in the closing seconds and the Trojans stunned Colville 42-41 in a nonleague game Friday night in Post Falls.

Colville (6-1) built a 10-point halftime advantage, but was outscored 26-15 in the second half.

Shayna Allert led a balanced scoring attack for Post Falls (9-6) with nine points. Reynolds scored seven.

The Indians’ Sadie Learn led all scorers with 18 points.

Selkirk 50, Clark Fork 34: Hannah Rick scored 23 points and Katie Couch chipped in 18 as the Rangers (4-4) pulled away after halftime and beat the host Wampus Cats (1-2). Lyndsie Kiebert led Clark Fork with 12 points and Alicia Heigis pulled down seven rebounds.

Great Northern

West Valley 43, Pullman 40: Natalie Noble hit two 3-pointers late in the fourth quarter to propel the Eagles (7-2, 1-0) past the host Greyhounds (2-4, 0-1) in a league opener. Noble finished with a game-high 14 points and Erin Higbie added 12 for West Valley. Pullman was led by Savannah Paul’s 11 points.

Clarkston 52, East Valley 47 (OT): Brooke Morrow scored 14 points and grabbed nine rebounds and the Bantams (3-5, 1-0) pulled away in overtime to beat the host Knights (7-2, 0-1). Riley Denton and Jaclyn Meyers added 11 points apiece for Clarkston. East Valley’s Alex Rankin scored 15 points and made a free throw with 4 seconds left in the fourth to force overtime. Hannah Burland also scored 15 for the Knights.

Cheney 43, Deer Park 23: Shyann Morton scored 14 points and Kayla Lemelin added 10 as the Blackhawks (2-5, 1-0) pulled away after a competitive first quarter and beat the host Stags (0-8, 0-1). Zoey Mohr led Deer Park with 15 points and 10 rebounds.

Freeman 55, Newport 40: The Scotties (5-3, 1-0) opened up an 18-point lead in the first half and eased past the host Grizzlies (7-2, 0-2). Katie Vold scored 19 points for Freeman, which hit seven 3-pointers. Holly Malsbury had 19 points and 10 rebounds for Newport.

Northeast 2B

Northwest Christian 66, Colfax 65: Rachel Bozlee’s 3-pointer with 1:10 left was the deciding bucket in the Crusaders’ win over the host Bulldogs (6-3, 4-1). Northwest Christian (11-0, 5-0) made nine 3s in all and outscored Colfax 17-12 in the fourth. The hot shooting helped the Crusaders overcome 26 turnovers. Bozlee finished with 20 points and Chanel Knight added 16 for NWC. Colfax was led by Amara Huber’s 19 points.

Lind-Ritzville/Sprague 65, Liberty 45: Jenna Bennett led four players in double figures with 17 points and the Broncos (5-3, 3-1) defeated the host Lancers (4-7, 3-2). Lind-Ritzville/Sprague held a 45-20 rebounding advantage. Liberty’s Christine Denny led all scores with 23 points.

St. George’s 54, Springdale 29: Hailey Higashi scored 17 points and Ceci Bergquist added 14 as the Dragons (4-7, 2-3) dominated from the outset in a victory over the host Chargers (1-10, 0-5). Bailey Brown added 12 points to lead Springdale.

Davenport 51, Reardan 37: Natalee Hayes and Christine Hanneman scored 13 points apiece as the Gorillas (5-5, 2-2) built a comfortable first-half lead and held on to beat the visiting Indians (2-8, 0-5). Reardan’s Maddie Johnson tallied a game-high 15 points.

Northeast 1B North

Inchelium 41, Curlew 38: Tasheena Kholer scored 16 points and Mariah Zacherle added 14 as the Hornets (2-2, 2-1) did just enough to slide past the visiting Cougars (3-4, 2-2). Kayleona Fanning led three Curlew players in double figures with 15 points.

Republic 67, Columbia 29: Shania Graham had 23 points, 11 steals, eight rebounds and seven assists as the Tigers (8-1, 4-0) routed the visiting Lions (3-5, 1-2). Savannah Bowe added 15 points for Republic. Asia Kieffer led Columbia with 18 points.

Cusick 65, Northport 8: Caytlin Nenema scored 21 points and Cassidy Hansen added 10 points and 11 rebounds as the Panthers (4-3, 2-2) overwhelmed the visiting Mustangs (0-9, 0-5). Cusick outscored Northport 17-0 in the first quarter and led 37-4 at the half.

Southeast 1B

Colton 67, Tekoa-Oakesdale 18: Jenna Moser scored 23 points and the Wildcats (6-0, 3-0) dominated from the get-go in an easy win over the visiting Nighthawks (6-1, 3-1) in a battle of the unbeaten. Zoe Moser added 14 points and Savannah Chadwick chipped in 10 for Colton, which set the tone with an early 25-5 first-quarter run.

Rosalia 46, LaCrosse-Washtucna/Kahlotus 23: Mackenzie Reddish scored 16 points and the Spartans (5-2, 3-1) eased past the Tigercats (1-6, 0-4) in LaCrosse. Jazzmyn Gordon tallied a team-high seven points for LaCrosse-Washtucna/Kahlotus.
