Rankin’s hot shooting enough for East Valley

Alex Rankin scored 20 points and East Valley dug itself out of a nine-point first-quarter hole and beat Clarkston 75-58 in a Great Northern League game Saturday night in Clarkston.

Hannah Burland and Jordan Phelan added a combined 23 points for East Valley (12-3, 5-2), which outscored Clarkston (8-7, 6-1) 21-11 in the second quarter to take a one-point halftime lead.

Clarkston’s Jaclyn Meyers scored 19.

West Valley 52, Pullman 39: Erin Higbie had 17 points and 15 rebounds and Natalie Noble added 12 points as the Eagles (11-4, 5-2) used an early advantage to get past the visiting Greyhounds (6-9, 2-5).

Inland Empire 5A

Lewiston 71, Post Falls 36: Paige Wells made 3 of 4 3-pointers and finished with 15 points to guide the Bengals (15-2, 4-1) to an easy win over the host Trojans (9-9, 0-5). Post Falls’ Shayna Allert scored 16 points.

Moscow 53, Lakeland 37: Jada Simpson scored 23 points and the Bears (2-13, 2-1) beat the Hawks (3-15, 0-4) in Rathdrum. Lakeland’s Kelly Ramus had 20 points and 15 rebounds.

Northeast A

Freeman 50, Medical Lake 35: Katie Vold scored 20 points and grabbed eight rebounds and Haley Burke dished out seven assists as the Scotties (12-4, 8-0) beat the host Cardinals (5-11, 3-6).

Lakeside 59, Chewelah 36: Ashley Cook-Cox and Jocelyn Cook-Cox scored 17 points apiece and the Eagles (14-2, 7-1) forced 26 turnovers in a win over the Cougars (4-13, 2-7) in Nine Mile Falls.

Newport 52, Kettle Falls 32: Holly Malsbury had 18 points and nine rebounds and Jolie Frederick made 11 of 13 free throws and scored 17 points to guide the Grizzlies (11-6, 4-5) past the visiting Bulldogs (9-7, 4-5).

Kellogg 56, Bonners Ferry 25: McKenna Stewart scored 10 points and the Wildcats (8-6, 3-1) routed the host Badgers (1-11, 0-5).

Lind-Ritzville/Sprague 55, Davenport 35: Jenna Bennett scored 19 and the Broncos (12-5, 9-3) used a 14-2 second-quarter run to get past the Gorillas (9-9, 6-6) in Ritzville.

Northeast 1B North

Inchelium 41, Columbia 39: Tasheena Kohler’s 3-pointer in the final seconds gave the Hornets (6-5, 5-4) a win over the visting Lions (4-10, 2-6). Kohler finished with 28 points.

Republic 71, Selkirk 50: Shanie Graham scored 16 points and Savannah Bowe added 15 as the Tigers (15-2, 9-0) defeated the visiting Rangers (9-7, 5-4). Selkirk’s Katie Couch led all scorers with 21 points.

Cusick 62, Curlew 35: Caytlin Nenema had 23 points and 15 rebounds and the Panthers (9-4, 6-3) eased past the visiting Cougars (7-8, 5-5). Curlew’s Lindsey Gibson scored 17 points.

Northeast 1B South

Almira/Coulee-Hartline 45, Wellpinit 38: Berlyn Hunt and Katie Emerson scored 11 points apiece and the Warriors (8-7, 3-2) used an impressive defensive effort in the second quarter to beat the Redskins (7-8, 3-3) in Coulee City. Wellpinit’s Kyra Antone led all scorers with 18 points.

Odessa-Harrington 47, Valley Christian 19: Katie DeWulf made 6 of 10 shots and scored 15 points to guide the Titans (8-9, 3-2) past the host Panthers (1-11, 0-5). Lanessa Simon added 13 points for Odessa-Harrington.

Central Idaho 2A

Grangeville 59, Coeur d’Alene Charter 18: Chantel Key scored 18 points and the Bulldogs used a 22-0 second-quarter run to get past the visiting Panthers.

Southeast 1B

Colton 63, Liberty Christian 30: Jenna Moser made five 3-pointers and scored 28 points as the Wildcats (15-0, 11-0) dominated from the get-go in an easy win over the visiting Patriots.

Garfield-Palouse 41, LaCrosse-Washtucna/Kahlotus 29: Taylor Redman scored 12 of her game-high 23 points in the decisive fourth quarter and the Vikings (5-11, 3-9) beat the host Tigercats (1-14, 0-12). Lindsey Miller scored 14 points and eighth-grader Jazzmyn Gordon added 12 for the Tigercats.

Pomeroy 58, Rosalia 49: Torrie Koller drained four 3-pointers and scored 17 points to guide the Pirates (6-4, 6-4) past the visiting Spartans (7-8, 4-7). Mackenzie Reddish had 15 points and 14 rebounds for Rosalia.

Nonleague

Glacier 61, Lake City 47: Cassi Hashley made 8 of 11 free throws and scored 20 points and the Wolfpack pulled away in the second half to beat the Timberwolves (10-9) in Coeur d’Alene. Cierra Dvorak tallied a team-high 13 points for Lake City.

Lakeside (Idaho) 58, Timberline-Weippe 20: Freshman Lillian Rhea had 12 points and 10 rebounds as the Knights (5-8) routed the Spartans in Timberline.
