Tyler Axtell and Dalton Rausch led Riverside to yet another significant win on Tuesday night.
Axtell scored a game-high 27 points, including a 3-pointer at the fourth-quarter buzzer to send the game into overtime, and Rausch added 24 as the Rams moved into a tie for first place in the Northeast A League with an 87-84 win over Lakeside (13-4, 8-1) in Nine Mile Falls.
Riverside, which finished 6-16 last season, won its sixth in a row. The loss snapped the Eagles’ seven-game win streak.
The Rams (15-2, 8-1) rallied from 11 points behind in the fourth quarter.
Lakeside’s Cody Watkins tallied a team-high 24 points. The Eagles beat the Rams 54-47 on Jan. 10.
Newport 66, Medical Lake 61: Jeron Konkright scored 29 points and the Grizzlies (9-9, 5-5) held off the Cardinals’ late rally and won in Newport. After falling behind by as many as 22 points in the second half, Medical Lake (6-12, 4-6) closed the gap late, but couldn’t come all the way back. Jaelon Smith had 19 points and 15 rebounds for the Cardinals.
Freeman 77, Kettle Falls 43: Ryan Maine scored 22 points and Jack Paukert dished out 10 assists as the Scotties (9-7, 6-3) sunk 14 3-pointers in a win over the visiting Bulldogs (6-11, 1-9). Jacob Phipps scored 18 points, Jesse Unfred had 13 and Michael Pierce added 10 for Freeman, which had 29 assists as a team. Kettle Falls got 15 points from Cole Wren and 11 from Tyler Johnson.
Pullman 66, Cheney 45: Race Martin scored 19 points and David Ungerer added 17 as the Greyhounds (14-1, 8-0) defeated the visiting Blackhawks (4-12, 1-7). Pullman forced seven turnovers in the second quarter and outscored Cheney 19-7 to take a 14-point lead into the half. Cheney’s Alex Berman and Ty Graham combined for 23 points.
East Valley 66, Deer Park 52: J.T. Phelan scored eight of his game-high 21 points in the fourth quarter as the Knights (9-7, 4-4) took control late and beat the host Stags (6-10, 2-6). East Valley led by just two points with 5 minutes left before pulling away. Mason Tidd and Gabe Bancroft added 11 points apiece for the Knights. Deer Park’s Avery Miller tallied a team-high 18 points.
Lind-Ritzville/Sprague 78, Northwest Christian 64: Dylan Hartz scored 17 points, including three 3-pointers in the decisive first quarter, and the Broncos (16-2, 11-2) beat the visiting Crusaders (12-7, 7-6). Connor O’ Neill added 14 points, including 10 in a first quarter that saw Lind-Ritzville/Sprague jump ahead 28-11. Northwest Christian’s Ryan Ricks led all scorers with 21 points.
Davenport 70, Springdale 63: Austin Zellar scored 22 points and Max Mielke added 21 as the Gorillas (6-13, 3-10) topped the visiting Chargers (4-15, 3-10). Josh Anderson scored 23 points and John Lynch added 18 for Springdale.
Liberty 53, Colfax 41: Match Burnham had 22 points and eight rebounds and Clay Fleming chipped in 20 points as the Lancers (15-4, 9-4) dominated in the second half and beat the visiting Bulldogs (8-11, 5-8). Liberty trailed by six points at the half, but outscored Colfax 30-12 in the second half. Brent Becker led three Colfax players in double figures with 15 points.
St. George’s 67, Reardan 32: Dexter Sienko scored 26 points and grabbed 12 rebounds as the Dragons (19-0, 13-0) jumped ahead early and raced past the visiting Indians (5-14, 1-12). Erik Muelheims added 18 points and Will Tender chipped in 16 points and 16 rebounds for St. George’s, which led 39-12 at halftime. Reardan’s Skylar Peone scored 12 points and Brandon Ruben added 11.

Wilbur-Creston 53, Almira/Coulee-Hartline 42: Garet Townsend had 22 points and 15 rebounds and the Wildcats (12-5, 3-2) defeated the Warriors (4-13, 2-5) in Wilbur. Nick Densley added 15 points for Wilbur-Creston. ACH’s Dallas Isaak led all scorers with 24 points.
LaCrosse-Washtucna/Kahlotus 54, Touchet 52 (OT): The Tigercats (7-7, 6-6) made 6 of 8 free throws in overtime and slid past the Indians (6-4, 6-4) in Washtucna. Darcy Stamper scored 17 points and Riley Roberts added 16 for LaCrosse-Washtucna/Kahlotus. Touchet’s Carlos Rincon hit four 3-pointers in the fourth quarter to help the Indians force overtime. Rincon finished with a game-high 24 points.
Pomeroy 67, Liberty Christian 51: Riley Bott and Cole Mayfield scored 16 points apiece and the Pirates (15-1) defeated the host Patriots. Colton 81, St. John-Endicott 26: Dalton Patchen scored 29 points and Jake Straughan added 17 as the Wildcats (8-3, 7-3) dumped the visiting Eagles (0-16, 0-12). Robert Staples had 17 points for St. John-Endicott.
Garfield-Palouse 72, Tekoa-Oakesdale 21: Tyler Thurman scored 17 points, Jesse Lopez added 13 and the Vikings (15-2, 11-2) came away with 17 steals in an easy win over the host Nighthawks (1-11, 1-9).
Post Falls 72, Moscow 61: The Trojans (9-6) prevailed in Post Falls despite a big scoring output from the Bears’ Jack Akey. Akey scored 40 points, but Moscow (5-7) couldn’t keep pace with Post Falls in the final quarter. Dalton Thompson scored 18 points and Corey Koski added 13 points and 18 rebounds for the Trojans, who outscored Moscow 23-10 in the fourth. Post Falls made 19 of its 21 free-throw attempts.
Lakeland 76, Coeur d’Alene 63: Tyrel Derrick had 24 points and eight assists and Derek Bayley added 17 points and nine rebounds as the Hawks (9-5) beat the Vikings (11-3) in Rathdrum. Jake Ram chipped in 16 points for Lakeland, which surged ahead in the second and third quarters. Coeur d’Alene’s Colby Daniels and Justin Carpenter combined for 27 points.
St. Maries 66, Kootenai 40: Logan Feasline scored 16 points and Leighton Gertje added 10 as the Lumberjacks used a fast start to get past the Warriors in Harrison. St. Maries outscored Kootenai 23-7 in the first quarter. The Warriors’ Jake Pfieffer led all scorers with 17 points, and he added nine rebounds and four assists.
