Travis Hansen of Clarkston won the boys District 7 2A title by 10 strokes, shooting 70-76-146 over the two day event at Qualchan. Hansen was also named Great Northern League MVP.
Dane Bednar (Pullman) was second at 156 and Eric Martin (Pullman) was third at 158. Tyler Koohns (Cheney), Thomas Baycroft (Cheney) and Trail Thompson (East Valley) all qualified for state.
Martin, Koohns, Bednar and Baycroft were named to first team all-league.
Pullman took home the team district championship.
On the girls side, Clarkston’s Grace Fraizer won the district title by 25 strokes, shooting 76-79-155 at Indian Canyon.
Alyssa Amann (West Valley), Julia Lupkes (Pullman), Renay Monohan (East Valley), Emma Williams (Clarkston), Kelsey Smith (Cheney) and Charity Yount (East Valley) all qualified for state.
West Valley was the team district title.
Fraizer was named GNL MVP. Lupkes, Amann, Smith, Williams, Monohan and Kellie Fitzpatrick (West Valley) were named to first team all-league.
1A: Ryan Maine of Freeman won the boys District 7 1A title with a two-day total of 143 at Chewelah Golf & Country Club.
Griffen Reggar of Colville was second at 149. Others qualifying for state were: Ethan Shroyer (Deer Park), Griffin Stroyan (Chewelah), Owen Baldwin (Chewelah), Tyler Haase (Freeman), Caleb Smart (Lakeside), Ryan Crosswhite (Freeman), Johnny McGuire (Freeman), Logan Dianda (Medical Lake), Brendan Petro (Medical Lake), John Hilden (Newport) and Mikal Palmer (Deer Park).
Freeman won the team title.
On the girls side, Kaysa Panke of Davenport won the girls 1A/1B/2B title by 17 strokes, shooting 150.
Others qualifying for state were: Maddy Christiansen (St. George’s), Alicia Johnson (Wilbue-Creston), Tessa Jantz (Lind-Ritzville/Sprague), Taylor Mitchell (St. George’s), McKenna Davis (Colfax), Chloe Sweatman (Northwest Christian), Molly Connolley (Lakeside), Michaela Tee (Tekoa-Rosalia), Isabelle Miller (Freeman), Karissa Bostic (Deer Park), Kylie Fraizer (Lakeside), Jaden Power (Colville), Polonia Longopoa (Colville) and Amy Selanders (Deer Park).
St. George’s won the team title.
Sam Tidd of Rocky Mountain shot 71-69-140 to win the 5A boys title at Teton Lake Golf Course in Rexburg, Idaho. Rocky Mountain took the team title.
Local finishers included Cameron Flores (Post Falls, sixth), Brayden Ogle (Coeur d’Alene, 12th), Tanner Byers (PF, 13th), Chase Mitchell (CdA, 17th) and Justin Kofmehl (CdA, 18th).
On the girls side, Highland’s Payton Ferringer shot 70-76-146 to take the title, and Highland won the team championship.
The top local finisher was Emily Dodge of Lake City, who placed fourth at 81-83-164.
Sam Goodman (Bishop Kelly) and Bailey Henley (Canyon Ridge) were individual champions, with both schools earning team titles, at Pinecrest Golf Course in Idaho Falls. The only area finisher in either top 10 was Makena Rauch of Moscow, who placed second in girls.
Kellogg ran away with the boys team title at Idaho Falls Country Club. Cade Finlay was fifth overall, Chase Jerome seventh, Tyler Gibbons sixth and Hogan Samuelson eight. Andrew Cortez of American Falls was the individual winner, shooting 72-73-145.
On the girls side, Kellogg finished second to Buhl. Kellogg’s Kay Rauenhorst was second and Kylie Robinson placed ninth. Kylie Crossland of Buhl won the title shooting 84-86-170.
Peyton Johnson of Bear Lake shot 72-74-246 to win the boys title and Cole Valley Christian took the team championship at Jefferson Hills Golf Course in Rigby. There were no local finishers in the top 10.
On the girls side, Cole Valley won the team title and Tyler Erickson of Soda Springs shot 83-73-156 to win the individual championship. Rachel Arthur of Lakeside finished fifth at 180.
