Volleyball roundup: Amanda Reed leads Lewis and Clark over North Central

Amanda Reed had 26 kills with three blocks and visiting Lewis and Clark (1-1) beat North Central (0-2) in four sets (25-14, 25-12, 21-25, 25-15) in Greater Spokane League play on Thursday. North Central broke a 51-set losing streak in the match.

Pullman 3, West Valley 0: Lucy Gao had 64 assists with four aces and a block and Pullman (3-0) defeated visiting West Valley (2-4) in three sets (25-15, 25-14, 25-17). Kelsey Nestegard, who also had four aces, led the Greyhounds in digs with 15.

Cheney 3, East Valley 2: Peyton Stark had 33 assists with two aces and visiting Cheney (5-0, 3-0) beat East Valley (2-3, 1-2) in five sets (25-22, 16-25, 25-20, 12-25, 15-9). Avery Stark had 10 kills for the Blackhawks.

Northeast A

Freeman 3, Newport 0: Elsa Hansen had 19 assists, Hanna Hansen added 11 digs and Freeman (3-1) swept aside visiting Newport (2-3) in straight sets (25-9, 25-10, 25-13). Rhea Jansen added 11 kills and five aces for the Scotties.

Chewelah 3, Medical Lake 0: Elizabeth Chalmers had seven kills, seven aces and one block as Chewelah (3-2) swept visiting Medical Lake (0-6) in straight sets (25-18, 25-16, 25-4). Katie Kepner had two kills, six digs and two blocks for the Cardinals.

Lakeside 3, Colville 0: Olivia Mikkelsen had 28 assists with three blocks and Lakeside (5-0) rolled over visiting Colville (4-1) in straight sets (25-16, 25-11, 25-13). Kora Pitts had 15 assists and eight digs for Colville.

Deer Park 3, Riverside 1: Taylor Tarble had 22 kills, Meghan Nicholas added 34 assists and visiting Deer Park (2-3) beat Riverside (1-4) in four sets (19-25, 25-22, 25-12, 25-15). Olivia Winkle had 13 assists, eight kills and two aces for the Rams.

Liberty 3, Reardan 1: Maisie Burnham had 17 kills with three blocks and visiting Liberty (1-0) beat Reardan (1-1) in four sets (25-18, 22-25, 25-20, 25-11). Kim Dewey had 27 assists and an ace for the Indians.

Northport 3, Curlew 1: Hailey Young totaled eight kills and Isabelle Bair notched 14 assists to help Northport (3-2) best visiting Curlew (0-4) in four sets (25-18, 20-25, 25-11, 25-18). Megan Joe Beedle led Curlew with seven kills and seven assists.

Oakesdale 3, LaCrosse-Washtucna/Kahlotus 2: Logan Reed had 26 kills and 20 digs as Oakesdale (2-0) sneaked past LaCrosse-Washtucna/Kahlotus (0-2) in five sets (22-25, 21-25, 25-16, 25-22, 15-10). Madison Shrope added 41 assists and two aces for the Nighthawks.

Priest River 3, CdA Charter 1: Emily Clark posted 15 digs, nine blocks and seven blocks as Priest River (1-3) knocked off visiting Coeur d’Alene Charter (0-2) in four sets (25-18, 25-17, 21-25, 25-20) in an Intermountain League match. Harlee Meek added 20 assists for the Spartans.

Genesis Prep 3, Lakeside (ID) 1: Genesis Prep (2-0) beat Lakeside (1-3) in five sets (22-25, 25-18, 25-14, 24-26, 18-16) in a North Star League match.

Mt. Spokane 3, Sandpoint 0: Malina Ama had eight digs and two aces as Mt. Spokane beat Sandpoint in straight sets (25-23, 25-15, 25-16) at Post Falls HS. Jenny Slaveck had seven kills and 14 digs for the Bulldogs.

University 3, Coeur d’Alene 2: Rachael Schlect had 22 kills with four blocks and University squeaked past visiting Coeur d’Alene in five sets (25-21, 18-25, 24-26, 25-21, 16-14) in a nonleague match on Thursday. Alaina Chester added 26 digs for the Titans.

St. Maries 3, Kellogg 0: Dakotah Wilks notched 20 assists with three aces and visiting St. Maries dispatched Kellogg in three sets (25-15, 25-18, 25-13) in a nonleague match on Thursday. Kaylee Auer added 10 kills for the Lumberjacks, and Devyn WIlson totaled nine digs and three aces.
