Girls soccer roundup: Kaelyn Barnes scores twice and Central Valley handles North Central

Central Valley 4, North Central 0: Kaelyn Barnes scored twice to lead Central Valley (7-0, 4-0) over visiting North Central (2-5, 1-3) 4-0 in a Greater Spokane League game on Friday. Maggie Ames and Kalle Crouch added goals for the Bears, who sit atop the GSL standings with 12 points.

University 4, Rogers 0: Brooke Berg scored in the seventh minute and University (4-3, 3-1) stopped visiting Rogers (0-7, 0-4) 4-0. Micah Simpson, Kora George and Grace Rogers added goals for the Titans.

Lewis and Clark 4, Shadle Park 1: Carolyn Moravec scored two goals and Lewis and Clark (5-2-2, 2-2) beat Shadle Park (2-5-1, 1-3) 4-1 at Merkel Sports Complex. Veronica Mulford opened the scoring for the Highlanders in the 26th minute.

Mead 2, Ferris 1: Olivia Sloan curved in a 25-yard free kick and visiting Mead (6-1, 3-1) beat Ferris (4-4, 1-3) 2-1 on Friday. Tia Frahm added a score at the 15-minute mark for the Panthers. Jill Calkins scored at the 32-minute mark for the Saxons.

Mt. Spokane 3, Gonzaga Prep 2: Emily Williams scored from 35 yards out in the final minute of regulation – her second of the game – to lead Mt. Spokane (5-3-1, 3-1) over visiting Gonzaga Prep (5-3-1, 2-2) 3-2. Williams tied the game in the 65th minute and Payton Stiles scored in the 24th minute for G-Prep.

Coeur d’Alene Charter 2, Lakeland 0: Sarah Hines and Marissa Hagerty both scored a goal apiece and Coeur d’Alene Charter (7-0) defeated visiting Lakeland (3-6) 2-0 in nonleague play. Mercedes Zepeda had two saves for the Panthers.
