Softball roundup: Grace Stumbough’s four hits, three RBIs leads Central Valley over North Central

Grace Stumbough had four hits with two runs and three RBIs and Greater Spokane League-leading Central Valley (10-0, 9-0) downed host North Central (1-12, 1-10) 16-2 on Thursday.

Mt. Spokane 7, Gonzaga Prep 0: Kaitlyn Zemke went 2 for 4 with an RBI and the visiting Wildcats (9-3, 8-2) beat the Bullpups (4-8, 3-7). Hannah Madsen added three hits for Mt. Spokane, which scored four runs in the top of the seventh.

University 7, Lewis and Clark 4: Sierra Apodaca went 3 for 4 with a double and the Titans (8-4, 8-2) beat the visiting Tigers (4-7, 3-6). Gracee Dwyer slugged two doubles for University while Kylie Pester went 2 for 4 while striking out seven on the mound for Lewis and Clark.

Rogers 5, Shadle Park 1: Macie Finch struck out five with no walks over seven innings and the Pirates (7-4, 6-4) beat the visiting Highlanders (5-7, 5-6). Gracie Olson went 1 for 2 with a home run for Rogers while Carley Hainline finished 2 for 3 with a solo home run for Shadle Park.

Mead 18, Ferris 8: Siara Harding went 3 for 4 with a three-run home run and five RBIs and the Panthers (7-5, 7-3) beat the visiting Saxons (0-12, 0-11). Tori Veter went 3 for 4 with a three-run home run for Mead while Brooke Lambert went 3 for 4 for Ferris.

Great Northern League

West Valley 20, Pullman 2 (Gm 1): Jillian Taylor had three hits including a home run and the visiting Eagles (9-2, 2-1) beat the Greyhounds (0-11, 0-4) in the first game of a doubleheader. India Wells allowed one hit in the three inning win.

West Valley 14, Pullman 1 (Gm 2): Maddie Thompson had three hits and a triple and the visiting Eagles (10-2, 3-1) beat the Greyhounds (0-12, 0-5) completed a doubleheader sweep.

Northeast A League

Chewelah 7, Lakeside 3: Krislyn Koler belted a sixth-inning grand slam to break open a tie game and the visiting Cougars (10-0, 6-0) downed the Eagles (8-5, 5-2).

Deer Park 16, Riverside 0: Courtney Stockman went 2 for 3 with a home run and four RBIs and the Stags (8-4, 5-2) beat the visiting Rams (2-10, 1-7).

Colville 10, Medical Lake 2: Rylee Merritt went 2 for 4 with three RBIs and the Indians (7-4, 4-3) beat the Cardinals (4-7, 3-5). Hannah Petek went 3 for 3 with two doubles for Medical Lake.

Kettle Falls 23, Davenport 9 (Gm 1): Kat Lawrence had three hits including a homer and the visiting Bulldogs (6-8, 3-2) beat the Gorillas (0-6, 0-3). Kettle Falls put up nine runs in the first inning.

Kettle Falls 18, Davenport 6 (Gm 2): Kaitlyn Eslick went 4 for 4 and the visiting Bulldogs (7-8, 4-2) swept the Gorillas (0-7, 0-4).

Nonleague

Selkirk 11, Wilbur-Creston 0 (Gm 1): Aralee Robertson went 3 for 4 with 4 RBIs and the Rangers (6-7, 6-3) beat the visiting Wildcats (3-6, 0-3). Ashlan Robertson went 3 for 4 with two RBIs for Selkirk.

Selkirk 14, Wilbur-Creston 0 (Gm 2): Aralee Robertson went 3 for 3 with a home run and four RBIs and the Rangers (7-7, 7-3) beat the visiting Wildcats (3-7, 0-4). Allison Petrich slugged a double and a triple, driving in two runs for Selkirk.

Colton 13, Orofino 3: Winning pitcher Josie Schultheis added three hits, three runs scored and three RBIs and the Wildcats (7-1) downed the visiting Maniacs (3-4).

Lake City 9, Post Falls 4 (Gm 1): Ashlynn Allen homered and drew three walks, scoring twice and driving in three runs, and the visiting Timberwolves (9-3, 3-0) downed the Trojans (4-7, 1-4) in an Inland Empire 4A game.

Lake City 11, Post Falls 0 (Gm 2): Reilley Williams drove in four runs on three hits, including a home run, and the visiting Timberwolves (10-3, 4-0) blanked the Trojans (4-8, 1-5).

Timberlake 16, Kellogg 0 (Gm 1): Becca Malloy threw a complete game two-hitter and went 2 for 3 at the plate with two RBIs and the Tigers (7-0, 4-0) defeated the Wildcats (0-3, 0-3) in an Intermountain League game.

Timberlake 26, Kellogg 1 (Gm 2): Maddy Salois went 3 for 4 with two doubles, a homer and three RBIs and the Tigers (8-0, 5-0) beat the Wildcats (0-4, 0-4).
