JT Smith and Tyson Degenhart scored 18 points apiece and No. 1 seed Mt. Spokane (16-5) knocked off visiting fifth-seeded North Central (11-12) 63-39 in a District 8 3A semifinal on Friday.
Mt. Spokane advanced to play Kamiakin in the district championship on Thursday at the Spokane Arena, while North Central hosts Southridge (7-14) in a loser-out game on Tuesday.
The Wildcats dominated early and led 46-14 at halftime.
Smith made five 3-pointers while Degenhart and Jerry Twenge hit four apiece. Twenge finished with 17 points. The Wildcats hit 13 3-pointers while NC made one.
Isaiah Lockett led North Central with eight points.
Kamiakin 55, Rogers 41: Champ Grayson scored 16 points and the No. 2 seed Braves (16-5) beat the visiting third seeded Pirates (9-13) in a district semifinal.
Jim Mohlman scored 14 points and Garrett Paxton added 13 for Kamiakin, which led by nine at intermission and held Rogers to two points in the third quarter.
Cole Riblet scored 10 points for Rogers, which hosts Kennewick (9-12) in a loser-out game on Tuesday.
District 7 1A
Freeman 76, Medical Lake 41: Michael Coumont scored 24 points and the No. 1 seed Scotties (20-0) limited the fourth-seeded Cardinals (11-10) to 14 points in the second half in a district semifinal at West Valley HS.
Freeman, rated No. 2 in Class 1A in WIAA’s RPI calculations, plays Lakeside in the district championship game on Wednesday.
Dylan Oja added 17 points while Jackson Clark and Quin Hopkins had 11 apiece for the Scotties.
Porter Westfall led Medical Lake with nine points.
Lakeside 68, Newport 66: Tristan Cox scored 24 points and the third-seeded Eagles (13-9) edged the No. 2 seed Grizzlies (15-6) in overtime in a district semifinal at West Valley HS.
David Smith and Bryce Wellhausen added 10 points apiece for Lakeside, rated No. 16 in the RPI.
Koa Pancho scored 14 points for No. 9 rated Newport, which faces Medical Lake in the district third-place game on Wednesday.
