GSL boys: Anton Watson scores 30 points and Gonzaga Prep gets past Rogers

Anton Watson scored 30 points and visiting Gonzaga Prep (13-0, 7-0) beat Rogers (5-7, 2-3) 62-55 in Greater Spokane League play on Tuesday.

G-Prep used a 17-8 run in the second quarter to take a 40-18 lead into intermission then withstood Rogers’ 25-19 fourth-quarter advantage to hold on to the win.

Liam Lloyd added 17 points for the Bullpups, who entered play rated No. 1 in state 4A in the latest WIAA RPI.

Evan Nomee led Rogers with 22 points and Maks Babich added 16.

Ferris 74, Shadle Park 40: Shamrock Campbell scored 20 points and the Saxons (12-1, 6-1) raced past the visiting Highlanders (4-7, 1-4).

Damion Carter added 16 points for Ferris, while Michael Ervin had 14. The Saxons came in rated No. 5 in state 4A.

Jake Groves led Shadle Park with 11.

Mt. Spokane 45, North Central 42: Jerry Twenge scored 22 points and the visiting Wildcats (10-2, 5-1) defeated the Indians (8-5, 1-4). Leon Sayers paced North Central with 17 points.

The Indians trailed by 10 entering the fourth quarter and trimmed their deficit to one after Sayers made 1 of 2 at the line late. But Mt. Spokane’s Tyson Degenhart made both ends of a 1-and-1 to seal it.

JT Smith added 15 points for the Wildcats.

Lewis and Clark 55, Central Valley 47: Naje Smith notched 19 points with 19 rebounds and the Tigers (7-5, 5-2) outlasted the visiting Bears (5-8, 3-4).

Griffin Effenberger added 15 points for Lewis and Clark, which entered play rated 16th in state 4A.

Grant Hannan led the Bears with 18 points, Zach Stocker had 13 points on three 3-pointers and Jase Edwards chipped in with 10 points.

University 78, Mead 67: Boston Tacke scored 18 points and the Titans (16-7, 1-6) rolled by the visiting Panthers (3-10, 1-7).

U-Hi used a 21-6 second quarter push to lead 46-24 at intermission.

Tanner Christensen made 9 of 11 from the line and finished with 17 points. Logan Dreher had 12 points and Logan Phillips added 11, including 6 of 6 from the line.

Tyson Rogalette poured in 35 points for the Panthers, including nine 3-pointers.
