Girls basketball: No. 7 Clarkston tops 16th-rated West Valley in GNL tilt

Anna Sharp scored 13 points and No. 7-rated Clarkston (11-2, 6-1) beat No. 16 rated visiting West Valley (8-7, 3-4) in a Great Northern League matchup on Friday.

The Bantams outscored the Eagles 16-2 in the fourth quarter.

Madison Moloney led West Valley with 18 points.

Cheney 60, Pullman 53: Maggie Smith scored 18 points and the visiting Blackhawks (7-8, 3-4) beat the Greyhounds (3-12, 0-7). Meghan McSweeny led Pullman with 15 points.

Medical Lake 54, Chewelah 39: Lexie Redell scored 16 points and the visiting No. 7-rated Cardinals (13-0, 9-0) beat the Cougars (7-6. 3-6). Krislyn Koler led Chewelah with 13 points.

Newport 50, Deer Park 42: Jocelin Nenema scored 19 points, Alika Robinson added 12 and the visiting Grizzlies (8-7, 4-5) beat the Stags (6-8, 3-6). Hava Fairbanks led Deer Park with 12 points.

Freeman 50, Colville 37: Anna Chisholm scored 13 points and the visiting Scotties (9-6, 7-3) beat the Indians (6-10, 3-76). Riley Merritt and Karsyn Pierce paced Colville with nine points apiece.

Sandpoint 65, Lakeland 31: Grace Kirscher totaled 27 points and the Bulldogs (9-5, 2-0) routed the visiting Hawks (4-12, 0-2) in a 4A Inland Empire League matchup. Ciera Bailey chipped in 14 points and Maddie Morgan added 12 for Sandpoint.

Hellgate (Montana) 39, Genesis Prep 35: The Knights rallied late to overtake the visiting Jaguars (8-8) in a nonleague game. Bella Burekatete paced Genesis Prep with 13 points.
