Girls basketball: Havelah Fairbanks leads Deer Park over Chewelah

Deer Park 42, Chewelah 19: Havelah Fairbanks scored 15 points and the visiting Stags (2-0) bested the Cougars (0-1). Kennedy Robison paced Chewelah with seven points.

Grandview 56, Pullman 49: Michelle Ruiz scored 16 points and Grandview (1-0) held off visiting Pullman (0-2). Rian Clear led Pullman with 14 points and Mckenzie McIntosh added 12 points.

Valley Christian 55, Northport 27: Phoebe Trigsted scored 25 points and the Panthers (2-0) raced past the visiting Mustangs (0-2). Kendra Pope added 14 points with 16 rebounds for the Panthers. Belle Stark led Northport with 10 points.

Newport 57, Priest River 41: Alika Robinson scored 19 points, Julie Schoener added 13 and the Grizzlies (1-0) bounced the visiting Spartans (1-2).

Garfield-Palouse 52, Potlatch 27: Kenzi Pedersen scored 24 points with nine rebounds and the visiting Vikings (1-0) raced past the Loggers (0-1). Maci Brantner added 14 points and 11 rebounds for the Vikings.

Wilson Creek 43, Columbia 13: Aleah Gilley scored 13 points and the visiting Devils (0-1) downed the Lions (0-1).

Timberlake 56, Sandpoint 16: Brooke Jessen scored 25 points and the Tigers (5-0), ranked No. 1 in state 3A in the initial Idaho media poll, downed the visiting Bulldogs (0-4). Mckeeley Tonkin added 15 for Timberlake.

Genesis Prep 48, Clark Fork 30: The visiting Jaguars (1-0), ranked No. 1 in state 1AD2 by Idaho media, handled the Wampus Cats (0-2) in their season opener.

Bonners Ferry 61, Wallace 27: Holly Ansley scored 19 points and the Badgers (2-0) downed the visiting Miners (0-3). Bonners Ferry led 38-12 at intermission.
