Andie Zylak scored 16 points, Jacinta Buckley added 13 points with 15 rebounds and No. 5-ranked Lewis and Clark (18-3) beat visiting Richland (11-11) 76-40 in a District 8 4A first-round game on Wednesday.
Lewis and Clark faces Chiawana on the road in a semifinal game on Saturday at 6 p.m.
Zylak sat most of the first half with two early fouls as the Tigers took a 35-31 into the break.
She was aggressive throughout the second half, attacking the basket repeatedly as LC began to pull away. She made a driving layup, then a short pull-up jumper before Kaylee Bishop hit a 3-pointer to give LC its biggest lead to that point, at 47-37, with 3:30 left in the the frame.
Zylak added two free throws and then knifed into the lane for a contested layup before a basket by Buckley capped a 13-1 run that pushed the advantage to 16 points about two minutes later.
Zylak had 14 second-half points – including 10 in the third – and the Tigers scored 36 of the final 39, holding Richland scoreless in the fourth.
The Bombers made 6 of 11 from the field in the first quarter and it was 17-all going into the second. LC’s Anna Reeves had 10 points of her 14 points in the opening frame. Richland was just 6-of-32 shooting, including 0 of 12 in the fourth quarter, the rest of the way.
Gracie Pierce led Richland with 15 points.
Chiawana 70, Gonzaga Prep 46: Clare Eubanks scored 21 points and the Riverhawks (16-5) handled the visiting Bullpups (11-10).
Leah Carney led G-Prep with 19 points. The Bullpups travel to Richland for a loser-out on Saturday.
Central Valley 63, Walla Walla 38: Kate Sams scored 16 points, Tomekia Whitman added 13 and the No. 3-ranked Bears (19-2) defeated the visiting Blue Devils (5-15).
CV will host U-Hi in a semi on Saturday.
Hannah Gilmore led Wa-Hi with 13 points.
University 69, Pasco 64: Tyler McCliment-Call scored 26 points, Kinsley Barrington added 16 and the visiting Titans (15-6) outlasted the Bulldogs (11-9).
Pasco used a 21-9 run in the third to tie it but U-Hi pulled away in the fourth.
Pasco and Walla Walla play in a loser-out on Saturday.
