Kaleb Poquette scored 22 points to go along with some clutch free-throw shooting and the Morton-White Pass Timberwolves earned a spot in the 2B state championship with a 63-57 win over the Bear Creek Grizzlies.
With 2:30 left in the game, the Timberwolves had built a 10-point lead, but the Grizzlies cut it down to three in the final seconds before they were forced to foul Poquette, who made his free throws down the stretch.
Rylon Kolb had a double-double with 12 points and 11 rebounds for the Timberwolves.
Luke Blankenbeckler had 15 points, eight rebounds and seven assists in the loss.
The Timberwolves were up 31-18 early in the second quarter, but the Grizzlies went on an 11-0 run to close the half and cut the lead within two. The Timberwolves were able to build another double digit lead in the fourth quarter before the Grizzlies' late rally was held off.
The championship game is at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, and will follow the third place game which Bear Creek will play in at 1:00 p.m.
