Boys basketball roundup: People’s 3-pointer sends Wilbur-Creston past Davenport

Devin Magers saved a ball from going out of bounds and Garrett Peoples hit a 3-pointer with 2 seconds left to send Wilbur-Creston past Davenport 42-40 in a Northeast 2B League North game Tuesday in Wilbur.

Dorian Jaeger had 17 points and Magers added 15 for the Wildcats (4-1, 2-1). Nathan Hopkins scored nine for Davenport (2-2, 1-2).

Northeast 1B North

Republic 58, Curlew 50: Adrian McCarthy scored 21 points to lead the Tigers (7-0, 3-0) past the host Cougars (3-2, 1-2). Curlew’s Gunner Brown scored 20 points and Daniel Tresham added 14 points and 18 rebounds.

Inchelium 63, Northport 60: Kenny Lelane scored 22 points and Winston Finley added 14 as the Hornets (2-3, 1-2) edged the host Mustangs (0-4, 0-2). Northport’s Aiden Middlesworth had 27 points, 18 rebounds, seven assists and three steals.

Cusick 55, Selkirk 51: Dylan Hendershot hit four fourth-quarter 3-pointers and finished with 15 points to guide the Panthers (1-4, 1-1) past the visiting Rangers (5-2, 2-1). Spirit White also had 15 points, along with 13 rebounds. Selkirk’s Logan Miller scored 20.

Northeast 1B South

Valley Christian 56, Columbia 49 (OT): James Segalla scored all 11 of Valley Christian’s points in overtime to lead the Panthers (4-1, 2-0) past the Lions (0-5, 0-3) in Hunters. Segalla finished with 20 points and Grant Jones led Columbia with 14 points and 16 rebounds.

Almira/Coulee-Hartline 69, Odessa-Harrington 30: Peyton Nelson scored 20 points and Logan Bohnet added 14 as the Warriors (2-0, 2-0) dominated from the get-go in a win over the Titans (1-5, 1-2) in Odessa. Odessa-Harrington’s Jayd Jenning scored 12.


Lewiston 64, West Valley 53: Braedon Wilson scored 22 points and Riley Way added 16 to lead the Bengals (1-4) past the host Eagles (4-2). West Valley’s Austin Yoakum tallied a team-high 17 points.

East Valley 57, Lakeland 54: Tanner Jacobs had 11 points and eight rebounds and the Knights (3-3) withstood the Hawks’ furious fourth-quarter rally and won at East Valley. Andrew Knight scored 14 of his game-high 16 points in the fourth for Lakeland (1-3), which outscored East Valley 23-7 in the fourth to make things interesting.

Pullman 78, Moscow 51: Jared Anderson had 14 points, nine rebounds, five assists and three steals to guide the Greyhounds (5-0) past the visiting Bears (0-3). Pullman’s Jake Cillay added 13 points and Tim Pendry and James Miles each chipped in 12.

Wellpinit 71, St. John-Endicott 49: Clayton Flett and Cedric Bowen scored 21 points apiece and the Redskins (3-2) routed the Eagles (0-5) in St. John. Adam Blakeley led three SJE players in double figures with 17.

Garfield-Palouse 68, Tekoa-Rosalia 30: Matt Holbrook and Mason Bates scored 15 points apiece and the Vikings (6-0) used a 19-0 second-quarter run to beat the Timberwolves (1-4) in Tekoa. Tekoa-Rosalia’s Chase Neill scored 10.
