The Lewis and Clark football team had scored just six points in two games going into Friday.
The Tigers doubled that and it stood up as visiting Lewis and Clark shut out the University Titans 13-0 in a 4A Greater Spokane League opener for both teams.
Nick Davis made field goals of 26 and 29 yards to put LC (1-2) ahead in the first half.
Then in the second half, tailback Cameron Duncan, on a bit of trickery, threw a 50-yard touchdown pass to Jack Sestero.
U-Hi (1-2) couldn’t sustain any offense.
The Tigers limited U-Hi to 177 yards total offense.
LC faces Mead in a league game Thursday at Albi. Kickoff is at 7:15.
Shadle Park 40, East Valley 35: The Highlanders (2-1) scored the winning touchdown with six seconds left in the nonleague game at Albi Stadium.
The Knights (1-2) got out to a 28-12 lead by halftime. But Shadle rallied with four touchdowns in the second half.
Running back Xavier Wicks led Shadle with 143 yards on 34 carries.
Shade takes on University on Friday at Albi. Kickoff is at 5.
West Valley 28, North Central 8: The Eagles (3-0) scored four first-half touchdowns and that was too much for the Indians (1-2) to overcome in the nightcap at Albi Stadium.
Quarterback Hunter Wright threw for 358 yards and three touchdowns for the Eagles.
NC takes on Ferris on Friday at Albi. Kickoff is at 7:30.
Mt. Spokane 39, Eastmont 22: The Wildcats (1-2) found their first win on the road.
Cody McDonald kicked four field goals, his last, a 31-yarder, providing the final margin with 2:57 remaining.
Eastmont fell to 0-3.
Mt. Spokane takes on Central Valley in the early game Thursday at Albi. Kickoff is at 4:45.
