Bird comes up big for Stags in win over Eagles

Deer Park 20, Lakeside (WA) 13: Trayton Bird’s fourth-quarter touchdown reception – and late interception – helped visiting Deer Park (3-1, 2-0) top Lakeside (2-2, 1-1) 20-13 on Friday night at Nine Mile Falls.

Bird had touchdown catches of 14 and 16 yard in the second half and his pick on Lakeside’s final possession clinched the victory.

Connor O’Dea threw three touchdown passes for Deer Park.

Freeman 42, Chewelah 0: Ben Darcy rushed for 254 yards on 16 carries with four touchdowns and visiting Freeman (4-0, 2-0) outpaced Chewelah (2-2, 1-2) 42-0.

JT Neely hit Andrew McGill for a 29-yard touchdown pass. Freeman’s defense hasn’t allowed any points in its four games.

Newport 50, Medical Lake 0: Koa Pancho ran for two touchdowns, including a 64-yarder in the first quarter, and threw for two more as Newport (3-1, 2-0) beat visiting Medical Lake (0-4, 0-2) 50-0.

Danny Bradbury caught two touchdown passes and Jesse Reyes added two short touchdown runs.

Northeast 2B

Colfax 24, Lind-Ritzville/Sprague 14: Dane Hall rushed for 170 yards on 19 carries with three touchdowns and Colfax (3-1, 3-1) beat visiting Lind-Ritzville/Sprague (1-3, 1-3) 24-14.

LRS built a 14-0 first-quarter lead before Colfax scored four unanswered touchdowns.

Liberty 72, Wilbur-Creston 26: Justin King had 243 of Liberty’s 543 yards rushing and the Lancers (4-0, 4-0) rolled past visiting Wilbur-Creston (0-4, 0-4) 72-26.

King had touchdown runs of 61 and 46 yards.

Tyler Haas had 143 yards and two scores while Jawuan Nave added 137 yards and three TDs.

Reardan 45, Springdale 13: Riley Nikkola connected with Justus Anderson on touchdown passes of 20 and 65 yards to lead Reardan (2-2, 2-2) past visiting Springdale (0-4, 0-4) 45-13.

The Indians built a 27-0 lead at intermission and cruised to the win. Josh Meserve rushed for 38 yards on eight carries and had an 8-yard touchdown run.

Northeast 1B

Odessa-Harrington 76, Selkirk 6: Sage Elder ran for four touchdowns and 65 yards and Odessa-Harrington (3-0) scored 46 points in the first quarter and beat visiting Selkirk (2-2) 76-6 in a North vs. South nonleague game.

The Titans gained 306 total yards on 23 plays. Quarterback Colton Hunt passed for two touchdowns and ran for another, while freshman Josh Clark returned two interceptions – of 56 and 63 yards – for touchdowns.

Almira/Coulee-Hartline 30, Cusick 12: Charles Hunt rushed for three touchdowns and ACH ran its record to 4-0 with a 30-12 win over Cusick (2-1).

Cusick trailed by six in the fourth quarter and was driving, but fumbled on its own 25 yard line.

Nonleague

East Valley 40, Lake City 30: Christian Johnson and Rodrick Jackson hooked up on a pair of long touchdown passes and East Valley (2-2) held off visiting Lake City (2-3) 40-30.

Jackson had TD catches of 63 and 99 yards and finished with five catches for 202 yards. Aledre Bracey had a 56-yard touchdown run and returned an interception for a score.

St. Maries 47, Timberlake 7: Kiefer Gibson threw for 260 yards with four touchdowns and St. Maries (5-0) handled visiting Timberlake (0-5) 47-7.

It was competitive early, as the Lumberjacks led 14-7 after the first quarter.

St. Maries ran off 27 points in the second quarter and cruised.

Lewiston 42, Sandpoint 7: Colton Richardson completed 17 of 20 passes with five touchdowns in the first half and Lewiston (5-0) beat Sandpoint (2-3) 42-7 in Moscow at the Kibbie Dome.
