Girls basketball: Sydney Zeiler helps No. 4 Davenport advance to semifinal in 2B district tourney

Davenport 53, Reardan 24: Sydney Zeiler scored 14 points, Janaye Wilkie added 13 and the No. 4-ranked Gorillas (18-3) beat the Indians (10-11) in a District 7 2B second round matchup at West Valley HS on Thursday.

Davenport plays St. George’s in a semifinal on Tuesday, while Reardan plays Wilbur-Creston in a loser-out on Saturday.

St. George’s 58, Lind-Ritzville/Sprague 42: Abby Jones scored 23 points, Lydia Bergquist added 22 and the Dragons (13-9) beat the Broncos (10-11).

LRS plays Asotin in a loser-out on Saturday.

Liberty 50, Chewelah 27: Maisie Burnham scored 17 points and the No. 7-ranked Lancers (20-2) beat the Cougars (11-11).

Liberty plays Colfax in a semifinal on Tuesday, while Chewelah plays Tekoa-Rosalia in a loser-out Saturday.

Colfax 46, Northwest Christian 42: The Bulldogs (13-9) upended the No. 8 ranked Crusaders (17-4).

NWC plays Kettle Falls in a loser-out on Saturday.


Post Falls 41, Coeur d’Alene 40 (OT): Kennedy LaFountaine hit the game-winning shot while Ali Carpenter scored 11 points and Maya Blake added 10 as the visiting Trojans (7-17) eliminated the Vikings (8-11) in a Idaho 5A District 1-2 loser-out.

Post Falls faces Meridian (13-12), the District 3 fifth-place team, in a state play-in game on Saturday.

Timberlake 52, Kellogg 19: Brooke Jessen scored 18 points and the Tigers (20-2) handled the Wildcats (10-11) in the Idaho 3A District 1 championship at Timberlake HS.

Kellogg faces Bonners Ferry for second seed to state on Saturday.

Bonners Ferry 60, Priest River 32: Baylee Blackmore scored 15 points with 12 rebounds and the Badgers (16-6) eliminated the Spartans (2-19) in an Idaho 3A District 1 loser-out at Timberlake HS.

Grangeville 43, St. Maries 41: The Bulldogs (15-7) beat the Lumberjacks (12-10) in the Idaho 2A District 1-2 Game 2 at Genesee HS to earn the league berth to state.

Genesee 55, Wallace 29: The Bulldogs (17-8) eliminated the Miners (6-12) in an Idaho 1AD1 District 1 play-in game at Post Falls MS.
